Teams are finally set and practices are going well.
TEAMS: All teams are composed of 12 players (max)
PARENTS: Teams are posted below. NOVEMBER, PAYMENTER DEADLINE WAS 11/15/09. Please, bring your account up to date.

SCVA/USA JUNIOR OLYMPIC VOLLEYBALL
AGE DIVISION DEFINITIONS FOR 2009-2010
15 and under division
Players who were born on or after September 1st, 1994
14 and under division
Players who were born on or after September 1st, 1995
13 and under division
Players who were born on or after September 1st, 1996
12 and under division
Players who were born on or after September 1st, 1997
BOYS 14 and under division, READ THE EXCEPTION RULE BELOW:
Regionally waived boys teams in the 14 and under age group will be allowed to participate at the USA Volleyball Junior National Championships using the following age/grade definition:
Players who were born on or after September 1st, 1995, or players who were born on or after September 1st, 1994 (15 years or younger) who shall neither have completed nor are in a grade higher than the eighth (8th) grade during the current academic year.
18 and under division
Players who were born on or after September 1st, 1991 or
Players who were born on or after September 1st, 1990, and a high school student in the twelfth (12th) grade during some part of the current academic year
PS: Once a player participates in a club or varsity program for any university, college, community college, or junior college, he/she is ineligible to play in any regional or national JOVC qualifying and championship events.
17 and under division
Players who were born on or after September 1st, 1992
16 and under division
Players who were born on or after September 1st, 1993
Note: The age definitions above are used for domestic club programs and are not the same as the age definitions for the International and/or Domestic High Performance programs for 2009.
CUTS:
The Club tries to accommodate all players to a team (either as team members or practice players)
Cuts are only made (usually) if teams don’t have enough players for all positions required (2 setters, 2 liberos/DS, 3 outside hitters, 2 opposite hitters and 3 middles)
If not enough players show up for a second or third teams (by positions) and a player does not meet the standards to be placed on the first team and/or player declines practicing position. Player than will be cut.
PROGRAMS:
TRAVELING FOR ALL AGE GROUPS from 12’s to 18’s AGE DIVISIONS (check above)
NON-TRAVELING: 14’s and UNDER AGE DIVISIONS ONLY (check ages below)
14 and under division
Players who were born on or after September 1st, 1995
13 and under division
Players who were born on or after September 1st, 1996
12 and under division
Players who were born on or after September 1st, 1997
PS: Players younger than 12 years old are welcome too at the Non-Traveling Program
BUDGET/COST:
Fall Season Payments:
14's - Under: $1,450.00 + $1,000.00 Junior Olympic Deposit, divided in 5 payments of $490.00
15's, 16's, 17's and 18's Under: $1,800.00 + $1,000.00 Junior Olympic Deposit, divided in 5 payments of $560.00.
Practice players: $180.00 Monthly
14's - Under Non-Traveling: Players placed on the Non-Traveling Team will pay $180.00 monthly.
The budget covers:
FALL SEASON BASE DUES: $1,200.00
Tournament fees; membership fees; uniform (s); GYM/Facility; insurance; coaches' salaries etc. (almost everything, except meals and airfare for teams going to Junior Olympics).
FALL SEASON TRAVELING COSTS: $600.00
Hotels; Vans; Gas etc
SCHEDULE OF MONTHLY PAYMENTS:

November 15th, 2009 (PAST DUE)
December 6th, 2009
January 10th, 2010
SCHOLARSHIPS:
FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE – WE DO HAVE SCHOLARSHIPS AVAILABLE (ask for it)
No Full Scholarships are awarded. The maximum Scholarship that will be awarded is 50% of the base dues ($1,200.00), not including traveling costs ($600.00).
SCHOLARSHIP PLAYERS MUST PARTICIPATE IN ALL FUNDRAISING EVENTS ORGANIZED OR SPONSORED BY THE PAGE YOUTH CENTER AND MUST PARTICIPATE IN ALL SCVA CLUB TOURNAMENTS WITH NO EXCEPTIONS (UNLESS ILLNESS, INJURY OR OTHER EMERGENCY).
2008 TAX RETURN MUST BE ATTACHED TO SCHOLARSHIP REQUEST FORM OR APPLICATION WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED.
