2011 turned out to be quite a year for the Santa Cruz Mets and San Jose Brew Crew. All in all the team won three of the four tournaments entered on the year. The only losing campaign being the 18+ Desert Classic in January. The team went on to win the 18+ Santa Cruz Classic wood bat, 25+ Woodland/Davis Best in the West and the most sought after prize, the coveted 25+ Federal World Series title. Tournament ball went well on the year, but for the first time since the team's inception in 2005, the Mets failed to make the Championship series in San Jose's 18+ division... Needing something to change, the team looked to Domingo Ayala and his "Beisbol Academy" for answers. Promising nothing but results in both tournaments and league, the team has vested any and all extra time with the "God gibben" talent of Mr. Ayala. Tournament ball aside on the new year, the Santa Cruz Mets plan to make a dash back to the top of the SJMSBL 18+ Nicewonger division in 2012!! With the Champion Royals and runner up Reds having similiar intentions and newcomers Bay Area Twins, San Jose Colt 45s, Giants, Marlins and Nationals looking to make their own statements, this promises to be a year of competetive, quality baseball in the San Jose MSBL... may the best team win!!!!
