Cardinals Scout Team Information
Coach Tom McCabe is an Associate Scout for the StL Cardinals, this fall scout team is designed for upcoming HS senior players who plan to play baseball at the next level--college ball. Team will carry a small squad (~14 players), so players will get plenty of play time. This team will allow each player to see what it takes to play college baseball. We will play JUCO's, Denver competitive teams, and Tournaments (if needed), so our players will get exposure along with working out with opposing college coaches. We will play between 16-18 games. The games will be on Saturday & Sundays (DH) and home field at Lewis Palmer HS. Each player will receive baseball instruction, skill repetition, and game philosophy, along with college exposure. Coach McCabe's background: Head Coach Lewis Palmer (2011-Present); Head Coach Widefield HS (2005-2010); Doubledays College Team Head Coach (2006-Present); StL Cardinals Associate Scout (2010-Present); Minnesota Twins Associate Scout (2008- 2009); Pittsburgh Pirates Associate Scout (2005-2007); MLB Minor League-A Player; College Div I Player.

MLB Scouting
Being annMLB Associate Scout, has lead to making many personal contacts with college coaches. Some examples: Northern Colorado University, Air Force Academy, CSU-Pueblo, Mesa State College, Maplewoods, Otero, Lamar, Northeastern, BYU, Metro State, Regis, Trinidad, Highlands (NM), etc.
The local area scouts who I have discussed player prospects: Yankees, Red Soxs, Padres, & Giants.
These contacts have been made based on scouting of players. Scouting occurs at local college's/universities within Colorado & New Mexico areas. Also a great amount of scouting occurs within the summer college season with the Doubledays. In this college league (15 teams) players are from across the country and scouted. Any possible MLB prospects are provided to our regional scout for further evaluation. Besides scouting college level players, I scout Colorado high school MLB prospects. If you have the talent and attitude, playing with the Scout Team and Doubledays ,can possibly open doors for you.
