Rebels take PA
Massapequa Rebels took first place in their GU12 division at the Western Lehigh Fall Fest, with three wins (4-0, 4-0, 2-0) and a tie (1-1). Tremendous efforts by the entire team showed during their four game round robin. Lead scorers were Lauren (3), Casey (2), Amanda (2) and Carly (2). Goalies were Christina, Linda and Jessica. Solid defense by Aurora, Nicolette, Gabriella, Katie, Kelsey, Lauren and Casey. Mighty midfielders, Jen, Danielle, Kaitlin, Autumn, Jess, Linda, Christina and Liz started the plays leading to the team's success.
Rebels Newsletter Brief
The Massapequa Rebels have started their Fall 2009 season with a decisive win and a come from behind tie. On Saturday, September 13, 2009, the Syosset Eagle came to John J. Burns and were defeated by the Rebels. The 2-0 win for the Rebels was a great way to start the season. Goals were scored by Autumn and Aurora. On Saturday, September 26, 2009 the Rebels took their game to Island Trees and after giving up a couple of goals, they finished with a 2-2 tie. A come from behind tie, shows character and determination. Christina scored both goals in the second half.

Keep up the good work! Continue to make passes, changing the field, defending our goal. Kudos to all! Play hard, play fair.

"I've gotta feeling . . . Let's do it!"

Kickin' off the fall season
Well the summer is almost over. Vacations are behind us. I hope all are staying cool in this heat wave. Please remind the girls to drink plenty of water and eat healthy. We have a busy schedule before we start the season. A scrimmage on Thursday to help us all understand the dynamics of 11 v 11 and a full field. The Covanta tournament will prove to be challenging, educational and lots of fun. Five games in two days will help build soccer character for all. Soccer bags should contain at least two bottles of water. I will provide a cooler for the team so no personal coolers on the team sideline. Make sure they have a cool wash cloth in a ziplock bag with their name on it. This will help cool them off during breaks. I will bring all the surviving left overs from the "bake sale".
Welcome Baby Jack!
Here's a new face. Congrats to Coach Elaine and Coach Kevin on their newest team player! Much health and happiness. GO JACK!
