Entering the Shark Zone

Hello and Welcome
Hello and welcome to our site. The 2009 season proved be an exciting year for the Sharks! We crowned the Bantams as the 2009 SKC Champions! This is there 4th Championship in a row! Way to go Bantams! In addition, the '89ers made it to the Championship, but fell just a tad short! We're all hopeful the 2010 season will be even more eventful.

The SeaTac “SHARKS” have been in operation since 2001. The franchise is part of the South King County Junior Football League (S.K.C.J.F.L.). The league consists of 8 teams. The other franchises are Central Area Parents and Coaches Association (CAPACA) - aka CD Panthers, Des Moines Rams, Rainier Beach Sports Program (Vikings),Rainier Valley Football Association (Ravens), Rainier Green Eagles, Renton Area Athletic Association (RAAA) (Rangers), and West Seattle Wildcats. The league plays by age and not weight. This opens football up to more participants that were unable to play before due to weight restrictions. The participants will be able to play with other participants of their own age and mental capability. The program promotes and sponsors youth football and cheer in the SeaTac and surrounding areas.

The program provides a safe environment wherein youth can gain football and cheer skills; learn good sportsmanship and mental health recreation through competition.

This program will stress learning lessons beyond the field, such as self discipline, team work, concentration, friendship, leadership, and responsibility.

To ensure that players are utilized to their utmost potential and their talents are used for the team’s best average.

Safety is our top concern, with safe and sane exercises, drills, and rules to ensure each child is physically and mentally prepared for the game of football and cheerleading as well.

Each child is unique and develops at their own pace. They will exercise their bodies and minds in an effort to develop the skills needed to execute football and cheer.

CHEER
Cheerleaders are an integral part of any football program and our cheer program is equally important to the SeaTac “Sharks” Junior Football Association as the football teams. We believe that our cheerleaders deserve the same dedicated coaching staffs and support as do the football players. The SeaTac “Sharks” cheer program is made up of the Cheer Director, Equipment Manager, Head Coach, Assistant Coaches, and Team Parents who are volunteers and contribute countless hours in preparation for each season.

Please try to remember this when addressing anyone concerning the program and try to keep all comments offered of a positive and constructive nature. There will always be a place for anyone that wants to make a positive impact on the program by volunteering.

According to S.K.C.J.F.L. rules, cheerleaders are limited to a maximum age of fourteen (14), with the minimum age to be at the discretion of each franchise. The SeaTac “Sharks” reserves the right to restrict registration to those participants of at least six (6) years of age. Mascot participation will be at the discretion of the Cheer Director.
