The Silverton Silver Foxes (1-2) know all about the Sherwood Bowmen (1-4). In the past three seasons the teams have squared off a total of five times, with Silverton getting the 1st three games and Sherwood winning the last two. Two years ago it was Silverton knocking Sherwood out of the state playoffs with a big home win, leading to an eventual 3rd place finish in the 5A state tournament. Last year the Bowmen avenged that loss with an 11 point home win, sending them to the 5A state tournament, where they ended up finishing 4th, the highest finish in school history.
Tonight's game features a team in Silverton that, although 1-2 on the year (2 close losses to Tigard and Tualatin) should be one of the favorites in the 5A Mid Willamette Conference. The Bowmen, coming off a three point loss to Aloha, have four losses by a combined 16 points (the largest margin was 7 vs. Reynolds).
Both teams will look to get back on track tonight, with tip set for 6:45 from Sherwood High School.
