The Shippensburg Greyhounds Youth Football and Cheerleading Programs participate in the Capital Football Association (CFA). The CFA consists of 31 teams in the Cumberland, Franklin, Perry, Adams, and Dauphin Counties. This will be the Greyhounds 3rd season participating in the Federal Conference of the CFA.
Why do we play in the CFA?
We believe that the CFA prepares the young athletes for the higher levels of football based on the challenging schedule that we participate in every season. The players will form bonds with other teams for years to come, while being acclimated in playing against other teams around the area.
Are the Middle School and High School Programs Involved?
Yes, the Middle and High School programs are using the the Shippensburg Youth Football Teams as a feeder program. Does this mean you are guaranteed to start or play once you reach these higher levels just because you played in the CFA? Not at all, you will have to fight for a position just like the other athletes. What you will gain by playing in the CFA is learning the high school playbook on offense and defense from the smurf level to the midget level.
