Coach Mario
EVERY MORNING IN AFRICA, A GAZELLE WAKES UP. IT KNOWS IT MUST RUN FASTER THAT THE FASTEST LION OR IT WILL BE KILLED. EVERY MORNING A LION WAKES UP. IT KNOWS IT MUST OUTRUN THE SLOWEST GAZELLE OR IT WILL STARVE TO DEATH. SO, IT DOESN'T MATTER WHETHER YOU ARE A LION OR A GAZELLE.
WHEN THE SUN COMES UP, YOU BETTER BE READY.
Coach Mario
Team Unity
Players learn to encourage each other regularly, doing everything from giving a pat on the back after a fine defensive play to leaving the dugout to greet a player who has simply advanced a base runner. Players who are coming out of the game for a substitute are ready to help the incoming player warm up. The players not on the field are still able to take an active roll by helping with the score book, keeping equipment in order, and offering vocal encouragement to their teammates.By realizing (knowing) that 12 individuals can not possibly win a championship, the group comes together and WORKS AS A TEAM in order TO SUCCEED.
Bulletin Board
Attention Eagle Players, read the factors about being a champion caliper team. Especially the first two factors. Read them and memorize them.
PS: Team Play Is Everything
The Slammin Eagles are a youth travel baseball program that plays competitive baseball with the USSSA. The team was formed in 2007 to provide a place for the players of Port Saint Lucie and surrounding towns to play organized competitive baseball. We the coaches are dedicated to teaching baseball fundamentals as well as sportsmanship. We strive to win, but at the same time the goal is to provide a fun place for the members of our team to learn the game of baseball and grow as athletes.

Pitching Tips
Our "Pitching Goals":
1. Sound delivery/mechanics - you cannot throw strikes consistently if you do not have sound mechanics. You also risk arm injury if you throw with bad mechanics
2. Location - To be a successful pitcher you have to be able to locate the ball. Inside/outside, up and down
3. Change speeds - You don't throw every pitch the same speed. You put a little more on, you take a little off. It keeps the batter off stride. There is an old adage about hitting that says: Hitting is all about timing. Pitching is all about disrupting the hitters timing. You disrupt a hitters timing by changing speeds
4. Field your position - You can win yourself a lot of ball games if you can field your position.
