Baseball Players Lend a Helping Hand!
November 29, 2009 - The official “Kick-off” of Santa Margarita’s 2009/2010 Baseball Service Project!
The Anaheim Angels "Grounds Keeper Food Drive" for Second Harvest not only brought out the Santa Margarita Baseball Team to lend a hand, but also thousands of people who donated canned food for a once in a lifetime opportunity to hit, pitch, and field at Angel Stadium. The players donated their time and muscle to collect food, sign in people and help wherever needed. The next baseball player “service day” will be on December 22, 2009 at the "Second Harvest" warehouse where we will be sorting and boxing up food for the needy.
Thank you players and Coach Bacani for coming out and making a difference!
Kyle Richter Signs with USC
November 23, 2009 - SMCHS left-handed pitcher Kyle Richter signed earlier this month to play baseball at USC. Kyle is looking forward to taking a leadership role for the Eagles as a senior before moving on to USC next year. This summer Kyle pitched for the Trombly Braves which included tournaments in Tempe, AZ and in Georgia. He was also invited to play at the MLB Urban Youth Academy against a team of top prospects from Japan. Kyle played in the Tommy Lasorda Elite Summer Games at Dodger Stadium, and in the Fall he played for the Angels Elite, and the OC Braves Scout Teams where he was selected to play in the Southern California Scout League All Star Game at USC. Richter maintains a 3.9 grade point average at Santa Margarita. Congratulations Kyle!
SMCHS YOUTH BASEBALL CAMPS
November 6, 2009 - The Santa Margarita Eagles Baseball Program offers a number of camps throughout the year for aspiring Eagles to improve their skills. Our Youth Clinics will cover basic mechanics of throwing, infield, outfield, hitting, pitching, catching, and base running. We have a 3 day camp on December 21-23. Please see the "Baseball Camps" section under "Site Menu" for camp descriptions and registration information for all SMCHS Baseball Camps.
