The Academic Athletic Arts Achievement Association affectionately known as 5A....."Welcomes you to the Gridiron". (Est. 1992)

Formerly known as the Springfield Raiders (North) and Hawkeyes (South), as of the 2009 season Springfield's 5A organization has merged and formed the Springfield Bulldogs. 5A Football is a game of intensity and emotion. Our goal is to teach our kids about responsibility and the fundamentals of the game. We also try to emphasize the importance of teamwork and sportsmanship. Our season begins August 1st, with conditioning, Mon-Fri 5:30pm-7:30pm. Our season officially starts in September and ends as of October 31. We continually look forward to an exciting season. In season practices are Tuesday, Thursday and Friday 5-7pm. We encourage all participants and parents to attend as many practices and games as you can. From all the coaches and players, we hope you enjoy our site

About the League
The Suburban Amateur Football League (S.A.F.L) has provided the youth of Western Massachusetts with a safe and fun program of football. The S.A.F.L. is an independent league that prides itself on being an all participant league. Any child between the ages of 8 and 14 can participate in our league. The league provides several level of football for the children. Teams are divided into groups by grade. The 3rd and 4th graders play instructional tackle football, with modified rules in our peewee Division. The 5th and 6th graders play standard NCAA football, with modified rules in the Junior Division and the 7th and 8th graders play standard NCAA football in the Senior Division.

Playing Time
Your playing time is determined by safety first, merit and ability. Players, who do not practice regularly during the week, will not be eligible to play in the games. Playing time will be in accordance with the SAFL rules.

Practice & Games
Be there. Your child will appreciate your interest and support. Give positive support to your child, the team and the coaches. Refrain from making negative comments – the players and coaches are doing their best! Remember, the Coaches and Staff of 5A is volunteering their time to work with your children. We do this because we want to help the children, not for the praise.

Parent / spectator conduct will be watched carefully. Any misconduct will result in the local police taking necessary action
