Welcome to Storm Baseball 2008. We finished the 2007 season on a high note winning the league championship, USSSA State tournament and the OABF State tournament. With all 11 players back from last season we look to move up in class this season and challenge for more titles.
Storm Places 3rd Again
The Moore Strom placed 3rd in the Moore A/AA State Qualifier tournament this past weekend. The tournament was loaded with quality teams and produced some very exciting baseball. The Storm started off slowly, losing to the Bixby Spartans 9-0. The bats were silenced the entire game and the defense had some lapses. After a short break on Saturday the Storm came back and shut out the Harrah Talons behind an impressive performance on the mound by Harry Ramirez. The next game was against the Moore Bulldogs. The Storm enacted some revenge on the Bulldogs for beating them in the last tournament by sending the Bulldogs home for the tournament with a 6-4 win. Sunday brought the Storm against a very good PCO Indians team. With the score 5-4 with time expired and 2 outs in the top of the 5th, Conner West delivered a bomb to left center to clear the bases and give the Storm a 6-5 lead. Blake Palmer threw a complete game retiring the Indians in the bottom of the 5th to secure the win. In the semi finals, the Storm faced the PCO Storm. The boys fought hard and played the PCO team tough before falling in the end 9-4. Great tournament and for the 2nd tourney in a row, the Storm takes home some hardware.
League Schedule Loaded
I have added the team schedule and have started entering the game statistics and scores on the site. Good start to the season with wins over the Outlaws and the Falcons.
Pepsi "B" World Qualifier
Moore Storm Places 3rd in the Pepsi "B" World Qualifier at Del City. After winning both pool play games the Storm defeated the Holdenville Red Sox 15-1 in the 1st game of bracket play. The wheels came off in the 2nd game, with the Bulldogs coming from 6 runs down in the last inning to win 7-6. The Storm bounced back with an impressive 8-1 win over the Del City Storm in the 3rd place game.
