B&D Trophies and More

Sunset Little League has partnered with B&D Trophies and More for a League Fundraising program. Teams that purchase their awards from B&D Trophies will receive a 10% discount and may also qualify for a free 6x8 upgraded plaques. You will receive these benefits . . . and . . . you will also be helping the league. The more teams that purchase their awards from B&D Trophies, the more the League will receive to help us help your kids.

B&D Trophies has two convenient locations; one at 3296-G Coors NW (839-0900) in Albuquerque, and one at 2345-B Southern Blvd SE (892-5513) in Rio Rancho.

Please consider B&D Trophies and More for your awards this year.

 Game Cancellations:

Sunset Little League will do everything it can to notify everyone at least one hour prior to all games being cancelled due to weather or field conditions that would pose a safety issue.

Tobacco Use

Please remember that all alcohol / tobacco products are banned for usage on Little League grounds. This includes all cigarettes, cigars, and pipes, chewing tobacco, E-cigs, vapor cigarettes and other similar products. At this time, the parking lot is still ok to smoke in. Please stay a minimum of 50 feet from all field entrances. Thank You!

Fall Ball is a great time to learn the fine art of becoming a Little League umpire. Forget all of the horror stories you hear in the media, it is a FANTASTIC way to be involved with your child’s (or grandchild’s) team, make some friends, and maybe even find a hobby you enjoy.

WE WILL TRAIN YOU! Little League umpire is the only volunteer position for which you will actually receive some training.During the fall, we will have you call a few games with a more experienced umpire. And in the spring, we will put on a half-day clinic to teach you the finer points.

WE WILL PROVIDE GEAR! If you are willing to commit (this is completely subjective, of course) we will help you acquire the proper gear you need to fulfill this mission (we have League gear you can use in the meantime). We would like to assess your progress in the fall so that you will be close to ready in the spring…it’s like a warm-up.

EMAIL the Chief Umpire, Mike Kelly, at if you are interested. We are looking for volunteers willing to call at least a few games other than their own player’s, maybe a couple of weeknights and a couple of “stay for an extra game” Saturdays (or arrive early, your preference).I’m talking maybe six or seven “extra” games during the fall…not a big deal.Calling a game feels COMPLETELY DIFFERENT when your own child is not involved, and this is important.

WE WILL NOT THROW YOU INTO THE DEEP END! You call your first few games in the field and learn the basic rotations and observe. Then you call a couple of games behind the plate with an experienced umpire in the field, who will be your Umpire In Chief (UIC) while you learn plate mechanics.Just try it during the fall…you may find you enjoy it more than you think!!

The Little League Parent/Volunteer Pledge
I will teach all children to play and do their best.
I will positively support all managers, coaches and players.
I will respect the decisions of the umpires.
I will praise a good effort despite the outcome of the game.
