U18 SYA Strikers Tryouts: 7:00-8:30pm, June 3 & 5 at SYA Field of Dreams and throughout the summer for all positions. Coaches Pam & Glenn Cornell combine coaching/playing experience at all levels including youth, HS, College, ODP and US WNT to prepare players for college. Introduce us to your player!
The SYA Strikers are the premier U17 Girls soccer team from Southwestern Youth Association competing in the Washington Area Girls Soccer League U17 Division Three. The club is based in Centreville, Virginia with players representing the following high schools: Centreville, Westfield, Chantilly, Flint Hill, Loudoun Valley, Stone Bridge and Fresta Valley.

For 2008-2009, VA/DC Hall of Fame Member Coach Pam Cornell rejoins the SYA Strikers bringing 30+ years of playing and coaching experience at soccer's highest levels including youth, high school, college, ODP and US Women's National Team.
The SYA Strikers coaching team of Pam and Glenn Cornell base their training philosophy on the US Soccer Age Appropriate Training Programs. These guidelines, techniques and tactics have proven successful in producing quality, intelligent players, ready to compete at the next level.

Southwestern Youth Assoc Soccer
Southwestern Youth Association (SYA) is one of Virginia’s finest and most complete soccer clubs with age/skill appropriate training and competition for all levels of play. In Spring 2006, SYA opened the first three fields at its Fields of Dreams Athletic Complex. The Cardinal Cup has helped support this field development project.
SYA has developed some of Virginia’s top teams with Virginia State Cup Champions and Finalists, as well as champions and finalists of some the region and nation’s top tournaments. Currently, SYA is proud to be home of the Va State Champions U16G Elite, U16B Force and U12G Freedom! SYA consistently supplies Virginia with talented players for ODP State, Regional and US National teams, as well as players continuing play at some of the nation’s top college programs. SYA boasts one of the strongest coaching staffs, with USSF A, B and C licensed coaches, ODP State and Regional Coaches and former national, professional and college players and coaches. SYA is also home to two Virginia/DC Hall of Fame Inductees... Club Director Rob Olsen and Coach Pam Cornell.
