SYC will once again partner with neighboring JLS Baseball (Jacobus, Loganville, Springfield) and hold a joint summer baseball league for players 7 to 12 years old.  Games will start the week of June 24th and run through the end of July.  All games will be held on weeknights so families can still enjoy their summer weekend plans.   For additional information about the summer program, please contact Erin Heaps at eheaps5@yahoo.com

 

You will need to complete the following two background checks if you plan on coaching this year.

State Police Check https://epatch.state.pa.us  This can be quickly done on line.

Department of Public Welfare Check http://www.dpw.state.pa.us/ucmprd/groups/webcontent/documents/form/s_001762.pdf  This form needs to be printed, completed and mailed to DPW.  This may take several weeks to get back so do not wait.

These will need to be completed and turned into the baseball director prior to coaching with no exceptions

SYC provides an intramural baseball program for kids in the Southern York County area ages 5 to 12. The age groups are based on the player’s age as of May 1st 2013. All practices and games are played on local Southern York County fields and against other players and teams within our area.
5-6 Division (Tee Ball) – Games on Saturday mornings and a weeknight practice each week
7-8 Division (Coach Pitch) – Games on Saturdays and either a practice or weeknight game each week
9-10 Division (Kid Pitch) - Games on Saturdays and either a practice or weeknight game each week
Player evaluations (ages 9-10) are held each year in February with coaches and teams selected shortly thereafter. Practices start indoors in March and then move outside as soon as weather permits. SYC has access to the indoor baseball training facility located at the Windy Hill baseball complex.

9-10 SYC will enter a team in this age group in the York County Travel League if registration numbers permit. This is strictly a travel program and players will practice and play several times a week. All home games are played on local SYC fields and away game are played all over York County against other travel programs. Tryouts will be held in February at a date and time TBA.
11-12 SYC will enter several teams in this age range into the local York County Travel League. This is strictly a travel program and players will practice and play several times a week. All home games are played on local SYC fields and away games are played all over York County against other travel programs. Tryouts will be held in February at a date and time TBA.
13-16 SYC will enter several teams in this age range into the local York County Travel League. Teams are divided based on age and skill. This is strictly a travel program and players will practice and play several times a week. All home games are played on local SYC fields and away games are played all over York County against other travel programs.

Any organization is only as successful as the quality of their coaches and volunteers. If you have an interest in either coaching or volunteering in any way, please volunteer to do so. In addition to always needing coaches, we will be looking for volunteers to help with field maintenance.
