PRACTICE FOR 2012 FOOTBALL SEASON
Practice will begin mid August. The first week we will practice Mon.-Fri. from 6:00-8:00 at the Veterans Field/Coop. Once school starts practice will be Mon., Tues. & Thurs. from 6:00-8:00 at Veterans Field/ Coop.

YAEFL MISSION STATEMENT: To have fun developing fundamental football skills, encourage teamwork, sportsmanship, and character development and deriving personnel satisfaction in everyone’s participation
SYC Football is an instructional league that is for boys entering the 4th, 5th, and 6th grade in the Fall, 2012. We have two Varsity teams and two JV teams for 2012. All boys entering 6th grade in Fall, 2012 must play on the Varsity squad. Those boys entering the 4th grade in Fall, 2012 must play on the JV squad. Boys entering the fifth grade in Fall, 2012 will play on either the JV or Varsity, depending upon their ability and parental desires, with coaches having the final decision. Boys cannot play if they turn 13 years of age before August 1, 2012 and/or are entering the 7th grade in Fall, 2012. Players must reside in the Southern York County area in order to play for SYC.
We are members of the York-Adams Elementary Football League (YAEFL). There is no weight limit, however there are certain weight restrictions for both offensive and defensive players that are in ball-handling positions (100 lbs. for JV and 107 for Varsity). There will be a mid year weigh in for any player that is UNDER the weight limit but within 8 lbs. of it. They will be reweighed and given a 5 lb. tolerance to continue to be a ball carrier.
We play seven to eight games during the season. Home games will be played on Saturday nights or Sunday afternoons at Susquehannock HS. JV games will begin at 6:00PM and Varsity games follow immediately. Practice begins mid August and is Monday thru Friday until school begins. After school begins the practice schedule will be Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday.
In addition to on-line registration, 2 forms must be completed: Registration Form, Parent Release/Physician's Release,and a copy of code of conduct. These forms can be found by clicking on "handouts" on the left side of this page.
PRINT/COMPLETE THESE FORMS AND BRING THEM TO EQUIPMENT HANDOUT TBD. CODE OF CONDUCT FORM IS FOR YOU TE READ WITH YOUR PLAYER AND KEEP. IF PAYING BUY CHECK PLEASE BRING THAT AT THAT TIME ALSO. CHECK MADE OUT TO SYC FOOTBALL.
For those that do not have access to the internet at home or at work, access can be accomplished using the facilities of your local library. If this is an issue please contact Barry Allen (contact info is below).
Evidence of insurance must be shown at equipment handout. Date TBD. (your child cannot participate without evidence of insurance – this is a league rule that is strictly enforced.
Registration Fee - $120.00 per player (Late fee of $ 25 after May 2nd).
All equipment is provided with the exception of groin protection and football spikes (ABSOLUTELY NO SCREW IN CLEATS OR METAL TIPS ALLOWED)
