April 10, 2015

Austin Isenhart out-dueled South Hills ace Gavin Velasquez in a classic pitchers' duel Friday afternoon.  Glendora won in extra innings as Nate Orosz doubled in Ryan Noll for a walk-off win.  Check out the "Handouts" tab for a copy of the SGV Trbune story about the game.

Everything's Jake for Tartans
Jacob Cage pitched a complete game, finishing the seventh with the game locked in a 1-1 tie and the stage set for a dramatic final inning. Jacob Smigelski ended the game with a towering bomb of a home run in the Tartan's half of the seventh. Smigelski connected with a 2-0 breaking ball and launched a shot that may have burned up on re-entry as he rounded the bases into the arms of his ecstatic teammates surrounding home plate.

Glendora will face the #3 team from the Citrus Belt league, Yucaipa. Yucaipa advanced to the Finals with a 7-5 win over Seaview League champs El Toro. Yucaipa has come all the way from the Wild Card bracket with wins over Rancho Verde, Crespi, Northwood, and Santa Barbara.
