GHS Wins Palomares League Championship

With a 5-0 win over South Hills, GHS wins the inaugural Palomares League title.

Coach Harwick Honored

GHS honored long-time baseball coach Clint Harwick Friday.  Coach Harwick, who's number 21 is retired, threw out the first pitch and then sat in his new private box with his wife Bonnie.

Everything's Jake for Tartans
Jacob Cage pitched a complete game, finishing the seventh with the game locked in a 1-1 tie and the stage set for a dramatic final inning. Jacob Smigelski ended the game with a towering bomb of a home run in the Tartan's half of the seventh. Smigelski connected with a 2-0 breaking ball and launched a shot that may have burned up on re-entry as he rounded the bases into the arms of his ecstatic teammates surrounding home plate.

Glendora will face the #3 team from the Citrus Belt league, Yucaipa. Yucaipa advanced to the Finals with a 7-5 win over Seaview League champs El Toro. Yucaipa has come all the way from the Wild Card bracket with wins over Rancho Verde, Crespi, Northwood, and Santa Barbara.

Highlight DVD's with all three home games plus the championship game are available for $15 from:
