NJBL SUMMER SCHEDULE POSTED

The NJBL 2012-Summer Schedule has been posted! The team is in the 14U-Central Division. Our first game will be Saturday, June 2 @ 9:00AM. A Double-Header against the East Rockaway Rocks-14U, the field is not posted yet. The complete schedule and all venue directions will be on our site within the next couple days.

NJBL MEMORIAL DAY TOURNAMENT RESULTS:
The team participated in the 2012 NJBL Memorial Day Tournament. The team got off to a slow start taking two losses on Saturday, but turned things around with two wins on Sunday. Unfortunately due to a tie-breaker the team did not qualify to play on Monday. The team is continuing to grow and mold themselves, each positive and negative step is part of the learning process.
GAME-1 RESULTS: A Loss to the LI Predators, 10-4
GAME-2 RESULTS: A Loss to the LI Astros, 6-0
GAME-3 RESULTS: A WIN over the NS Cougars, 8-2
GAME-4 RESULTS: A WIN over the LB Rangers, 12-7
In the games on Saturday, our bats were quiet and provided little support to some good pitching efforts by Chris Dorizas, Greg Gamino, & Zack Travis in Game-1 and a solid outing by Vincent Amorosa in Game-2 against a strong LI Astros team. We also had some blunders on defense, but continued hard work will keep these blunders from frequently remaining a problem. (Errors are part of the game, but hard work and practice will cut this aspect of the game down to a minimum)
On Sunday, the pitching got even better with "Pistol" Pete Papadakos going the distance and allowing only four hits in the opener against the NS-Cougars. The bats also woke up exploding for seven runs in the fourth inning. The batting order was just about to turn after going quietly through the first three innings when Vincent Amorosa got the first hit to start the rally with a solid single to left center, followed up with four hits, four walks, and some productive outs we sent twelve men to the plate! In the final pool game, the bats remained active plating twelve runs on 13-Hits and 5-Walks, "Big-Mac" Hillan had 3-RBI's to lead the offense. The pitching efforts of James Notarnicola and Zack Travis survived one shaky inning to preserve the victory!
