The Texas Monarchs are an Adult Amateur Football Team (A.K.A. Semi-Pro Football) for men between the age of 18 (out of school) and beyond. They possess and exhibit the athletic skills and potential to play at this level.
The Texas Monarchs consist of dedicated enthusiasts who wish to extend their football careers beyond their high school and college days by continuing to play adult amateur competitive football. The Monarchs football team was formed to showcase the best talent from the Clear Lake and Galveston Region. This team will fill the void for the geographic areas of Alvin, Deer Park, Dickinson, Friendswood, Galveston, La Marque, La Porte, League City, Pasadena, Santa Fe, Seabrook, Texas City, and Webster.
The goal of the Monarchs is not only to win football games and a league title, but to also give the players the opportunity to display their talents. With the hope of advancing their football careers to a higher level of play to a two or four year college (based on eligibility status), Arena Football-Levels one or two, the Canadian Football (CFL) or the National Football (NFL) leagues.
The Texas Monarchs will play against some of the best teams from Houston, San Antonio, Austin and Dallas regions. The Texas Monarchs Semi-Pro Football team will be celebrating its first season in the Gulf Coast Football League (GCFA) for the 2010 Season.
