Summer Baseball

Texas Stars 2009 Spring and Summer Season
The Texas Stars Baseball team is a highly competitive group of 11 year old boys from North East Tarrant County. The Stars call the NEO baseball Complex in Haltom City their home. These boys have been playing competitive ball for the last 6 years and will be playing against the best teams in Texas and the Nation this season. They will play in a highly competitive league and 1-2 tournaments a month. The ultimate goal is to win another National Championship. We are currently looking for sponsors along with working fund raisers to acquire the required funds for this season. If you are interested in providing sponsorship money to these hard working young men, please contact Coach Rick at (817) 846-7514. Thanks for your support.

Texas Stars Blue Place Second in the AAYBA World Series

The American Amateur Youth Baseball Alliance (AAYBA) World Series returned to Flower Mound Texas bringing some of the best 11u teams across our Metroplex, Texas and several other states. A total of 66 teams competed in this exciting seven game format. The Stars started the tourney in a very tough pool bracket going 1-2. Play began against the (AAA) Texas Stampede and the (Major) Knoxville Stars. Both of these teams pitched outstanding games against our boys and we lost 8-3 and 10-0, respectively. In our final pool game, the boys’ bats came alive and we bested the (AAA) Texas Sports Black 9-7.
Going 1-2 in pool play put the team in the running for the Gold or Silver Championship. We had to play a one game seeding tourney to determine which bracket we would compete in. Strong hitting and pitching propelled the boys into the Gold bracket by defeating the (AA) Mean Green 9-4. Our first Gold bracket game was against the (AAA) Keller Knights. Another strong hitting performance gave the team another victory 12-7. In our semi-final game against the (AAA) Texas Diablos, the boys played their best defensive performance and with timely hitting, we won 12-6.
The championship game was against the (Major) McKinney Marshals. The game, which saw three lead changes, two ties and went the full seven innings, found our boys on the losing end 12-9. The boys went 4-3 during the tourney and 3-1 in bracket play. The Coaches and parents are very proud of our sons. They played with heart and determination throughout the tournament.

Stars win the Triple Crown Labor Day Classic
The Stars win the Labor Day tournament at Texas Star in Euless. A few new faces were on the team this weekend and all the boys played great. We are looking foreward to our next challenge.

The Texas Stars win the 2008 Super Series Texas State Championship
The Stars won the 10U Super Series American Division Texas State Championship. This makes 2 years in a row the Stars have won a Super Series State Championship. The team went into the tournament as the defending Super Series Minor Texas State and National Champions. The boys went 1-1 in pool play by beating the Flower Mound Dawgs 14-0 and losing to the HVA Storm 2-1 in a very close game. The Stars were seeded 7th and had a tough road in front of them on Sunday morning. The first game started at 10:00 AM and the Stars defeated the Texas Lynx Black 12-1. We knew the heat was going to be as much an obstacle as the opponents so we made sure the boys were plenty hydrated and ready to play. The second game was against the Number 1 ranked team in the nation, the North Texas Tar Heels, which ended in a 6-4 victory for the Stars. The next game pitted the Stars against the very strong Flower Mound Rattlers in which the Stars won 11-8 to put them into the 8:00 PM championship game. The championship game concluded a long day of baseball in the Texas heat. The championship game was started in the darkness of the sky and lights of Bakersfield. This was a nice change from the heat of the Texas summer. The Stars were presented a chance to redeem themselves of their pool play loss to the HVA Storm, who also persevered the day and made it to the Championship game. The Stars went up early 2-0 but then fell behind 2-4. The team didn't give up and finally went up 8-4 to complete their quest for another Texas state championship. This was truly a team effort and another great moment in Stars history. This father's day gift is one that never will be forgotten. Great Job Stars
