"Prepare For Battle!"
Lancers defense key in wins for Pee Wee's & Jr. Midgets. Gremlins, Jr. Pee Wee's fall just short.
September 21, 2009 - 08:35 PM
Entering now our 5th year anniversary the Lancers welcomed Alhambra Thunderbirds once again to Lancer Stadium. In a very well Sportsmanlike day with both sides showing good sportsmanship these games fell into the well played category. With the Flag kids coming out strong and playing very well, these kids look good for being together only a short time. The Gremlins fell just short of being able to turn the corner and tie up the score but just couldnt stop the running of the Alahambra ball carriers. The Jr. Pee Wee's with the talent they have also couldnt muster up any offensive but showed good will in running the football behind #44. Overall these games could have gone either way. The Pee Wee's and the Jr. Midgets on the otherhand showed why staying together prooves to be worthy. Both teams having had players come back played like it and pulled off big wins. Both teams just over powered their opponents on both ends of the field. Displaying hard hitting and solid running, these guys can only get better. Thats not to mentioned how well these guys played individually. For the Pee Wee's you just cant blink when watching #3 Ivan Guasin as he carries the ball and makes tacklers miss. With teamates Andrew Sanchez, Andy Guzman, and Sebastian Murillo leading the way. The Jr. Midgets as a well coached team came out punishing from the start. Good ole fashion BG Football as we say it. Punishing their opponents they never lost their cool in executing offensively and making again big hits defensively. Leading the were Kevin Sanchez, Damian Garcia, Miguel Alderete,#72 Mathew "THE BEAST" Perales,Danny "HOLLYWOOD", and the rest of the seasoned returners. Look out for a good solid year from this squad. Good Luck next week.
