THROWBACKS SPRING BACK TO LIFE.
WILL THE REAL THROWBACKS PLEASE STAND UP.
Sunday Throwbacks were back in action. Following a bad first game lose the Throwbacks were going to go up against last seasons top rival the Phat Bastards. Throwbacks were missing Duke and Anthony both whom were out of town. This left the Throwbacks going into their second game with only 9 players. Pops was going to pitch and Sunny had to try his hand at Shortstop. Throwbacks also had to play on a new field. The new field was a very nice field but it was a much bigger field and with only having 3 outfielders this may become a serious issue.
Throwbacks started the game on offense and quickly scored 4 runs. It all started with a leadoff homerun from leadoff hitter Mickey. This was Mickey's 3rd time leading off for the Throwbacks. Each time he has come through with a good offensive game. Throwbacks I think you have your leadoff hitter! In the bottom of the inning Pops pitched just fine and got out of the inning without giving up any runs. The outfielders made some good plays but Sunny came up with 2 of the 3 outs looking like a seasoned veteran at short. Pops filled in nicely for the absent Duke and kept Phat Bastards in check throughout the game but the big surprise was the quality of play from the 3 outfielders, Alex, Mickey and Matt who stepped up and played solid for 7 innings. With large gaps out there the 3 didn't give up 1 homerun. Mickey made a couple of leaping catches out there that would make anyone's high lite reel.
The Throwbacks also had their game faces on all game and had their usual BIG innings. They never gave the Phat Bastards reason to think they were ever in the game. It was a great Team Effort. Sometimes when a team is short 1 outfielder the opponent tries to hard to hit the gaps. This may of been some of Phat Bastards struggles but whatever was their problem, Throwbacks had all the answers. The final score was 24-13 smacking of the Phat Bastards. Throwbacks are back on the right track, the winning track. Keep it up Throwbacks you will get your chance for revenge on Dirty Dozen you don't have to worry about that. Good game and see you Sunday.

Sunday Throwbacks will be back in action with a 12:00 game time. After the game Throwbacks will stick around at the park had have their first BBQ. Bring your burgers and dogs. Throw some sodas and brews in your coolers and show up at the Q.
OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE GAME:
This week offensive player of the game goes out to Mickey. Mickey once again stepped up offensively for the Throwbacks. Mickey has lead off for Throwbacks in 3 of their games and all 3 times he has stepped up with above average offensive games. Way to go Mickey keep it up and you are, Offensive Player of the Game.
DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE GAME:
Defensive player of the game goes to a surprise player, Sunny! Sunny (who said he had shortstop experience) really showed he did indeed have skills at shortstop. He made all plays that came to him. He showed no nerves and knew right where to go when the ball was hit to him. He also made one of the plays of the game when going back for a pop fly down the line, made a spectacular catch in foul territory.

WILD HOGS WIN AGAIN!
Duke Hog was out of town for this one.
Ed Hog had a good game in both the field and at the plate. He does have to tone it down just a little on the young guys. Ed they just can't figure you out! hee hee.
Pop Hog stepped in and pitched for Duke and did a very good job. The big thing was Pops had a good defense behind him which was very nice ;)
