Congratulations Lightning for a great weekend of soccer! The girls competed this past weekend in the March Mania Tournament at Covenant Park. They are the runners up of the Gold division! They won their first game on Friday night 4 goals to 1. On Saturday they lost their second game 0-1. They won their third game 2 goals to 1 and on Sunday they won their last game 3 goals to 1. The girls worked very hard as a team. They exibit their best footwork out on the pitch!!! Go Lightning!!!!
THUNDER LIGHTNING
The U13 Girls Thunder Lightning is a travel team currently playing in WAGS (Washington Area Girls Soccer League). Our main objective is to make sure all of our players develop the highest technical skills needed to play soccer. The team is coached by former Venezuelan National Soccer Player, Miguel Garcia. He has a FIFA Certificate, an International Italian Coaching License and has played, trained and coached many professional soccer players. His 45+ years of experience playing soccer internationally gives our players the opportunity to learn to play soccer like the pros.
The team has a year round program that will enable the players to become great soccer stars. Practices in the fall/spring season are three times a week on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays. During the winter/summer months the team is trained by Coach Devin Payton from the Magic Futsal Academy. Our coaching staff has developed many talented soccer players at the ODP Regional, National and International level. All of our team training sessions are combined with our sister team the Red Storm who is currently rank #1 in the State of Maryland, has four ODP players and two ODP Region 1 players.
Any soccer player who wants to take soccer to the next level should join this team. Their game will explode!
