Tides Defense Falters, Leones Take Advantage.
October 23, 2011
The Tides defense fell apart in the first and second inning. The offense tried to come back, but ran out of time. The Tides need to solve their defensive miscues or a rough season may be developing.
Center Field Prospect called up.
October 11, 2011
Center field prospect Nick Osborn has been called up to the Tides. Osborn has explosive speed which is something the Tides have been missing. Osborn's speed should cut off those gaps and rid the Tides pitchers of those bloops and high fly balls that don't get caught like they should. Osborn has a good bat and shouldn't take long to hit at this level. Once he is on the bases he will be a threat at all times. Tim Young will move into the infield and play second alongside Ulery, who will settle in at short. De La Rosa will most likely move into right field. Left field is Salinas's to lose, but he may platoon with Flores depending on the pitching situation. Migliorni will play left if he isn't on the mound. The Tides defense should be much better this coming season and the offense will improve as well. They will miss Doen's bat and leadership however, this is where Ulery is going to have to step up and insert himself in the Doen's former role.
Jeff Doen Retires.....
October 9, 2011
The heart and soul of the Tides Jeff Doen is retiring from the game he loves. A phenomenal hitter who shows great patience and a true leader on the foeld, will be hanging up his spikes after many great seasons. Doen in his college days won a championship and always had the heart and will of a champion. Always a positive guy with a big smile as well as a battle cry, Jeff Doen always showed his leadership qualities. When I asked Matt Ulery what it was like to lose Jeff Doen here was his response after the Tides defeat to the Astros. You know we are losing a great player and our leader, but worse yet we are losing an even better friend. I think that says it all about Jeff Doen. What a great player, but he is an even better person. On behalf of the Tides Organization, we wish Jeff Doen and his family the best of luck in the the present and the future....
Tides Lasso Rangers, but are put into orbit by Astros.
Mat Migliniori pitched fantastic vs the Rangers, some bad defense helped the Rangers stay in the the game. The offense pounded away and kept on rocking as the Tides moved on to the second round. The pitching and outfield defense was a nightmare in game two and the Astros destroyed the Tides. The Tides pitchers couldn't throw strikes and if they did it was roped into the gap.
After Loss Tides Limp into Playoffs.
THe Tides loss to the Fish, did not doom them and they will go into the playoffs as the seventh seed. The tides are gonna need to get their defense clicking or they will have a quick exit. The offense needs to keep clicking and Migliorni has been dominant unless the defense falters which, lets be honest does quite often. If the Tides can shore up some holes they will have a good chance to go deep in the postseason.
Tides Lose to Fish, Rivalry Begins,
October 2, 2011
Its amazing that so many scumbags can exist in a league, but the Heredia league keeps producing no good ghetto trash. The Marlins brought out a ringer to pitch and oh was he a sweet talker. Almost starting a brawl on a number of occasions. The Tides went down early due to a poor performance by Flores and shoddy defense as well. The trash talking began early and it was off to the races. Things really got dicey after a Migliorini home run. Migs next at bat ended in a strikeout and the pitcher yelled sit down at the top oh his lungs. Then the shouting went back and forth. when the little scumbag came up to hit, the umpire issued warnings to both sides. Needless to say the little punk tapped a ball right to Migs who threw him out with ease. In the bottom of the sixth the Tides were rallying when Migs K'd, but Anthony Salinas made a huge baserunning error. Now Ulery came up with only two on instead of the bases loaded. Ulery roped a run scoring double into the gap. Now with Doen on third and Ulery at second, Casey Hughes came to the plate. Hughes grounded the ball to second and the Tides threat ended giving the fish the victory.
Tides Capsize Pirates
The Tides offense rolled on all cylinders agianst the Pirates obliterating their pitching staff. Migliorini was Masterful again with a small speedbump in the second due to some bleeders.
Tides Steam Roll Over Potrillos.
August 28, 2011
Well The Tides Offense has been a gamble all season. Good thing they put up a 21 in this game. The Tides Offense decimated the Portrillos young pitcher. The Portrillos Offense couldn't even hit the ball out of the infield must less make contact with Flores and his 1-2 arsenal. Migliornini and Ulery Led the offense in the Massacre. Ulery had 7RBI's in all including a grand Slam, Migliorini continued his extra base assault adding a double and a triple. The Tides need to run the table to keep their playoff hopes alive. They draw the Angels after the Labor Day Holiday weekend. After that the Leones will once again stand in the Tides way.
Tides Blast Majadas.
August 21, 2011
The Tides Bats blasted off into Orbit obliterating the Majadas pitching. The Majadas had zero chance against Migliorini who dominated Majadas hitters despite some shoddy defense by the Tides. The Hitting made up for it however and the Tides did what they needed to do. MIglilorni also was the offensive star knocking in 6 runs.
Tides Losing streak hits 3 in a row after Resurgent Marlins Jump On Mistakes.
August 14, 2011
The Tides Losing streak hit 3 in a row. The worst losing streak in their history. What's changed? The pitching hasn't been there, the defense certainly hasn't been there and the offense has gone missing. The Tides need their hitting or their in big trouble, they do not have a very stronbg defensive team and need to really rely on their hitting, without it the season is lost.
Rough Day in La Habra
July 31, 2011
Hola Amigos! "Mucho" Bucho Morales is back again this week. The Tides took on the LH Pirates on Sunday at La Habra High School. Unfortunately errors and lack of timely hitting didn't even matter as the Pirates pummeled the Tides 20-7. The Tides will look to bounce back this coming weekend and will put this game behind them.
Tides can't wash away Leones
July 24, 2011
Buenos Dias amigos! Soy "Mucho" Bucho Morales, the Pacific Tides Spanish announcer. I'm filling in for Verne these next couple of weeks. The Tides played their old foes the Leones on Sunday, but not even a last minute surge could help as they lost 12-7. Tim Young contributed with 3 RBIs, but unfortunately it was not enough.
Tides Smash Halo's Wings.
July 17, 2011
The Tides offense pounded the Angels into submission. Phil Hernandez struggled a little, but didn't receive a lot of help from his defense. Luckily the offense caught fire and rammed it down the Halo's throat.
Tides Ride over Portrillos
Tim Young and Gary Liu led the Tides past the Portrillos. Tony Arevalos crushed his first homerun of the year as well. The Tides are 2-1, but can easily be 3-0 if not for a bad inning against the Majadas. The Tides will travel to Gladstone to take on the hated Angels next Sunday.
Tides Error, Majadas Slip By.
June 26, 2011
With tensions high after the last showdown between the Tides and Majadas, the tides scored early and stayed on top till the defense went into shock and threw the ball around like a Looney Toons episode. The Majadas took advantage with dinkers and bad defense. The Majadas only hit the ball to the outfield three times. Migiliorini struck out 12 and had a great outing only to be let down by his defense. The Tides chance at revenge fell to the way side and they will have to wait till next time. The good news for the Tides is knowing they are a better team and lost merely due to a bad day in the field. Lacking a few starters never helps either. The next meeting between the two teams should be quite different.
Tides Beat Braves on Opening Day.
June 19, 2011
Braves 7 Tides 11
The Tides offense fired on all cylinders to back Flores for the Victory. The offensive stars were Gary and Tim Young.
Durango Wins Title.....
Durango beat the Nationals to take the A/AB Title. Durango last year were beaten by the Tides in the championship. The Tides will go after the title again starting this coming Sunday.
Tides Start A New June 19th 2011
The Tides new season will begin June 19th. A new attitude and new blood joining the fray. Anthony Whittingham wil be out at least another month and a half after having surgery done to his hand. The shortstop should be back on the field at the end of July.
Tides Use Long Ball in path to Championship!
The Tides used the longball today against both Majadares and the Outlaws. The Tides offense rocked all day with homers by Doen, Hughes,Arevalos, Ulery, and Reyes. The pitching held both teams at bay for the most part and the offense can pouncing. The Tides will be without Whittingham their SS for the championship game due to his ejection in game 2 against the Outlaws. The Tides will meet Durango next week for the Championship!
Tides drop reins and fall into second place.
The Tides played sloppy and could not overcome their lack of discipline. The offense tried to come back, but the defense would falter. Too many walks and mistakes led to the Tides downfall and the Rays to their credit took advantage and shocked the Tides. The Tides fell to second place and will probably take on the Outlaws.
Tides Rock Bad News.
October 17, 2010
Tides Pounded Bad News with an offensive Surge and Phil Hernandez showed his strikeout abilities.
Tides Walk All Over Teadogs.
September 19, 2010
In a ugly game the Tides outwalked the Teadogs. Both sides pitching was lacking early on and walks were the norm. Both Teams hung crooked numbers in the first making it an excruciating lon inning. Jarmoat came in after and got the control down. The Tides played well enough to beat the Teadogs, but they will need more if they want to take down the Brewers and Rays.
Diamondheads Snip Tides.
September 12, 2010
No Pitching and No hitting other than that the Tides were fine. The Tides couldn't get anything going and fell into a three way tie for first with the Brewers and D-Heads.
Tides Walk off On Expos.
August 29, 2010
In a great played close game the Tides pulled one out. Ulery hit a game winning single to give the Tides the win. The Expos put their lefty Fire baller up against the Tides and he pitched a great game. Tony Flores however pitched 6 fantastic frames and only gave up one run. Seth Halverson struggled with command late and two runs came into score and the game was tied up. But the Tides got the men on for Ulery and he smacked a single up the middle to end it. The umpiring is a different issue, poor officiating was rampant in this one on both sides. But the umpire was really bad against the Tides challenging players when it was not needed and stirring up trouble. The league should definitely suspend the umpire or let him know he has to be more professional.
Tides Slam Down Zacatecas.
The Tides rolled on all cylinders today. Zacatecas tried to come back, but to no avail. The Tides stayed in front the whole game and never let Zacatecas within 4 all game. James Jaromat was the hero at the plate and on the base paths. Jeff Doen added four hits including a double.
Tides Fall In Clash with Rays.
August 15, 2010
The Tides offense Sunday afternoon was put to sleep by a crafty lefty. The Defense did the same and the Tides lost their first game of the year to the hated Rays. A last minute change sent the Tides to Sierra Vista, by far the worst field in the league. Bad hops plagued the Tides all game and the Rays caught some breaks. The Tides however were down the whole game and just could never recover. The Tides record sits at 4-1 as they go into game six in a fourteen game season.
Tides Roll On By Bad News!
August 8, 2010
The Tides Defense was sloppy early and it wasn't looking good for the Tides against a revamped Bad News team. The Tides bats came to life in the mid innings however and overpowered Bad News. The Tides offense was led by catcher Rey Reyes who had four RBI's with two doubles. Phil Hernandez pitched 5 1/3 scoreless innings securing the win for the Tides.
Tides Lackluster, but Brewers implode.
August 1, 2010
What went from certain defeat down 9 to 5 in the sixth inning turned into Divine Intervention. A controversial pick off at first led to the Brewers catcher being tossed. Then starting pitcher Mr. Softy got tossed for cursing out the umpire and threatening assault upon the man behind the plate. Then shortstop charged in and said some choice words the stands erupted and a baseball game turned into a standoff with the umpire. Finally the umpire declared a forfeit as the Brewers were unable to field a team due to the ejections. The Tides offense was dormant most of the game and reliever Tony Flores was starting to reel. James Jaromat had a fine start and will pick up the win do to the forfeit. So in the books the Tides will win the game 9 to 0.
Ulery's walkoff gives Tides the Victory!
July 25, 2010
Ulery blasted a walk off homerun in the bottom of the ninth giving the Tides the victory. The Tides came out swinging in the first two innings scoring 11 runs. The pitching didn't hold up and the Titans tied the game in the top of the ninth. The Tides improved to 2-0 to start the season.
Tides Slam Tarasco on Opening Day!
July 18, 2010
The Tides opened a new season and absolutely demolished the competition. In what seemed to be a new attitude the Tides unloaded early batting around in the first and never took their foot of the gas. The Tides are now 4-0 on Opening Day since the beginning of their existence.
TIDES Opening Day is here!!!
Tides open their new season today against Tarasco @ Workman High School.
2010 Jan-June Season Standings

Tides Grind out finale against Diamondheads.
June 20, 2010
The Tides offense layed dormant for most of the game. Ulery roped a 2 run homer to tie the game in the sixth. the Diamondheads struck back with one in the seventh. In the Tides eighth De La Rosa came up with a clutch RBI single to plate Arevalos who started a 2 out rally. Hernandez singled and an error allowed the runners to advance to second and third. Young then put one through the hole on the left side scoring De La Rosa. Whittingham had an nerve racking ninth on the mound but got a fly ball to right field to secure the Tides 11th win. The Tides season ends leaving them in third place with a 11 and 7 record.
Tides Playoff hopes end in loss to Brewers.
June 13, 2010
Late inning heroics by Rey Reyes were washed away as the Brewers rallied past the Tides late. In the loss the Tides fell to fourth place and have been eliminated from making the playoffs. With a record of 10-7 a promising season has fallen flat of late leaving the Tides with thoughts of what if......
Tides Bats Rock Bad News.
June 6, 2010
The Tides bats thundered in the mid innings giving James Jaromat the support he needed to shut down Bad News. Multiple Tides hitters had multiple hits as they rocked Bad News. The defense was coherent and the Tides picked up a much needed win. Ulery had 5 RBI's, Young had 3 hits, and Crawford delivered with two doubles. Rey Reyes also added 3 hits.
Tides Fall in Controversial Loss to Hooters.
May 23, 2010
The Tides pitching is in big trouble after this game, it seems to be hanging on its last hinge. jaromat could only survive one inning and Whittingham the same. Whittingham was thrown out of the game after a big debacle at second base where he took the word of the shortstop and stepped off the base getting picked off. he yelled at the umpire and threw his helmet in the umpires direction. He then got into a verbal spat with the shortstop who pulled the bush league move. The Tides offense kept matching the Hooters till the last inning which was too much in the end.
Tides Give It all to Zacatecas.
May 16, 2010
In a sloppy defensive game by the tides the bats held them up until the pitching ran out of gas in the seventh. Ulery walked two and hit a guy. Whittingham came in walking two and giving up the game winning base hit. Sadly this game was doomed from the start by poor defense from the Tides putting them in a 5 to 0 hole. The tides bats finally woke up topped by a 3 run homer by Ulery. Bad defense by the Zacatecas shortstop also helped the Tides climb by the Zacatecas. But errant throws and balls not caught kept Zacatecas close and in the end it was the Tides undoing. A poor played game unfortunately knocks the tides out of first place and with a Charros and Leones win knocks the Tides down to third place. The rest of the way are must wins for the Tides then again so was today, the Tides have to stop this kind of play if they want to win in the playoffs. Check that if they want to get into the playoffs they need to play better and play smarter.
The tides need pitching, the pitching just seems gassed, Seth Halverson would be a help he is on the roster, but has not been seen from. When it comes down to it the tides need more than just three guys who can pitch. If they don't get the help they need who knows how it will end.
Yankees forfeit, Tides win.
May 9, 2010
The yankees couldn't field a team so the Tides win by default.
Tides Survive Rays Onslaught! Win 16-14.
May 2, 2010
The Tides offense cranked, but so did the Rays. Ulery had six RBI's to lead the Tides offense. While The Rays Momentum was stopped by the clock at the end of the game. The Tides pitching was running on empty and the Rays took advantage of it, but came up just short.
Tides Knock Leones Off Pedestal!
April 25, 2010
The Tides undermanned came out and pounded the baseball, leaving the Leones in their wake. Ulery pitched six innings, Tim Young was stellar in center field running the ball down. Hughes and Hernandez banged in RBI's and a rookie dazzled. The Tides defeated the Leones 9 to 7!
Tides Defense Folds, Charros walk away with win.
April 18, 2010
James Jaromat threw a good game, but his defense failed him. Nine errors by the tides gave the Charros 8 unearned runs. On the offensive side Ulery had a two run homer and a two run single. Hughes had an RBI double and that was all. Normally that would've been enough, but the defense came up short time and time again. The Charros didn't win the game, the Tides gave them the game. Now the Tides have to pick their heads up and go after the powerful Leones.
Tides Wallop DiamondHeads
April 11, 2010
The Tides pounded the Diamondheads into the ground and look to next week in hopes at a shot against the undefeated Leones. In related news the Leones lost their first game against the Brewers.
Tides Give Their Own form of Bad News with a 15 to 1 Win.
March 28, 2010
The Tides brought their bats and Ulery pitched a gem on the mound. The Tides dominated the whole game scoring 12 runs in the first and then putting it on cruise control. The Tides will have Easter off and go back at it the week later.
TIDES Slam DBacks 21 to 7!!!
March 21, 2010
The Tides Bats left off where they were last week, hitting the ball from line to line. Whittingham and Young together scored 9 runs to lead the offensive assault and put the snakes to bed. The tides will take on Bad News next weekend at Sierra Vista @ 3pm.
Tides Offense Rolls All Over Zacatecas!
March 14, 2010
Tides win 23 - 9!!!!!
The Tides defense wasn't pretty the whole game, but the offense shined for them. Scoring 23 runs on 20 hits. Doen was 4 for 5 with 4 runs scored Ulery also had four hits and scored five runs. Whittingham had 3 RBI's and Sandoval went 2 for 3 with 2 RBI. Young added 3 hits from the lead off spot. Every Tide reached base in the ballgame.
Rain Keeps On Falling.
March 7, 2010
The Tides just can't seem to catch a break they have been inactive for three straight weeks. If there is anything good about the constant rain it has given a chance for them to lick their wounds. Crawford is due to come of the disabled list just in time for this weekends rain delayed contest against the Zacatecas. James Jaromat who was nursing a calf strain has healed up as well. The Tides should be at full strength this weekend as they take on Zacatecas at Sierra Vista.
Tides and Zacatecas washed away in the rain will play next week Feb 28th.
Catcher Crawford Sprains ankle out two to three weeks.
David Crawford sprained his ankle in an off field incident Dr. William Sharps says it will be two to three weeks before he can return.
Tides Give Yanks No Love On V-DAY!
February 14, 2010
The Tides unleashed an offensive flurry late in the ballgame riding a two run shot by Ulery that put the game away. The Tides kept the game close with a stellar performance by Jaromat who had to leave early with an injury. He will get it looked at this week. The Tides are now 2-2 and will play next week at Sierra Vista high school.
Tides Drop to 1-2 thanks to sloppy defense!
January 31, 2010
The Tides defense faltered again as infield hits and misplayed balls spelled certain doom to the tides. The offense kept battling back but a blown call late and another error ended the Tides comeback.
Tides Fall To Leones and Conditions.
Bad Field conditions added to the Tides plight as well as horrible umpiring. The Leones got some of the luckiest hops man has ever seen. On ground balls alone they scored 10 runs. On a decent field the grounders were outs, instead balls hit ditches or took off on hard dirt over the fielders. Jaromat didn't have it early and Whittingham came in and was squeezed to death by the umpire, forcing him to throw cookie after cookie to the leones. The Leones left fielder was also playing at about the 310 marker and made long drives by Ulery and Valdez look like weak fly balls. With no fence the conditions could not have been worse. Plus the Tides were missing their big slugger and first basemen Casey Hughes and Cather Dave Crawford. The Tides will fight back next week and pray for better conditions.
Tides Take On Leones 1/17/10
January 17, 2010 – 11:00 AM

Tides Beat Charros 6-2. To Win opener.
The Tides played some small ball to score their runs and Tony Arevalos flashed the long ball to give the tides the win. The Tides defense was very effective and led the way helping Jaromat shut down the Charros.
Speculating Tides Possible Opening Day lineup
A new year begins and the Tides expect new results. Tim Young will return as the everyday center fielder after shoulder surgery in the off season. Whittingham will return to short stop after breaking his hand and fit nicely in the two hole. Doen will play RF, Ulery is moving to the outfield to make room for some new faces such as Arevalos and Valdez. Hughes will return to man first base. De la Rosa will spread himself about with time at third and second. Crawford will return as the backstop and bring his OBP into a lineup that looks to score a ton of runs. Valdez, Guererro, Sandoval and Bridges will all look to get into the games and take their hacks. Jaromat will open the season as the staff ace, but has a lot to prove this season as does this team. Their first test will be the Charros.

A's Slip past resurgent Tides.
The Tides fought back from an early 7 to o deficit, but roared back in the late innings only to lose by two. The defense finally looked like a cohesive nit and did a good job keeping Jaromat in the game. Hughes went 3 for 4 at the plate and Ulery homered. De La Rosa added an RBI to the mix as well.

Tides and Cubs Halt with a tie.
The TIDES and Cubs fought back and forth all day long. The Tides battled back and held off the Cubs till the 8th when a bloop single tied the game up, causing the Tides to settle for a tie. The offense kept pounding away all day long. The Tides showed great heart in the game and Anthony Whittingham promised to return from the DL before season's end. Whittingham suffered a fractured pointer finger last week.
Blown Calls, Blown Chances, Blown defense wrecks Tides Good Start.
The Tides opened the game up with a big lead. The score was 7 to 1 after two innings and then the flood gates occurred. Bad defense and missed opportunities at the plate hurt the Tides, but none so bad as the umpire. The umpiring was dreadful at least 4 blown calls cost the tides big. A bases loaded double that was a foot and a half foul, a blown call at the plate, bad strike calls, and another bad call at the plate doomed the tides.
Tides look to get back to .500 against Sox.
October 11, 2009
The Tides challenge the White Sox this weekend. The White Sox were the champions of the Rookie division this year. The TIDES are coming off two straight losses they would like to forget and a win this weekend would go a long way in helping them fulfill that. The Tides need their offense to return and they need their pitching and defense to show up. The Tides play at 2:30pm this Sunday at Diamond Bar Field.
Padres Chastise Tides!
The Padres juped all over Tides pitching and the Tides couldn't get anything going against the padres. Crawford had a good day at the plate tallyingthe only extra base hit for his club. The Tides had a scare when Ulery rolled his ankle in the sixth, he ended up shaking it off but was visibly in pain. Young added a couple of hits and also was hit for the league leading fourth time. The defense failed the Tides in the late innings but it was already pretty much decided. The Tides fall to 1-2.
Tides Fall in Walk Off win for the Braves.
September 27, 2009
The offense was raking the defense was not so much. Mental errors and lack of thinking on their feet cost the Tides today. The Tides controlled the game and lead most of the way until the seventh. The Braves took the lead on a double and then in the eighth Ulery roped a double to tie the game and Hughes hit a sac fly to center to put the Tides up. The Tides fell however after two men reached base and a bloop single to right scored the tying and winning run for the Braves. Doen had a two run shot to leaqd off the game his first in two seasons.

Tides Fall To Brewers In Finale.
The Tides opened the game with a two run lead after Ulery Homered and an RBI basehit by Wilson. Ulery took the mound and was erratic unable to throw strikes and walked the bases loaded in back to back innings, however no runs scored. Ulery walked two more in the third and Wilson came in. Wilson was hit around hard and the Tides fell behind. The tides scored three in the ninth when Ulery led off with a double, Amato singled in Ulery and Doen hit a sac fly with two on Sandoval grounded out to first to end the game. The Tides end the year with a sour taste in their mouth, but their Fall season will begin on September 18, so they will not have long to dwell on their disappointing season.
Tides ready for finale against Brewers.
Both teams with no shot to get in the playoffs will play for pride this weekend. This game will end a promising season for the Tides that started out looking like a playoff run was an easy ride, but poor defense and lack of pitching dragged the team down keeping it from prospering. The Tides look to roll out on a good note and then prepare for the fall season with a brand new slate.
Tides hang ten on Blues!
The Tides bats came to play, Ulery led the way with 4 hits. Guererro homered and Doen roped a two run double to put the game out of reach. The Tides defense was pretty solid in the game as well. Doen pitched three solid innings and Wilson kept them in check with the final six innings. It was a great win for the Tides, who will close out the season next Sunday against the Hurricanes.
Ulery and Young Help Single-A All-Stars win!
Young walked in two at bats. Ulery sparked a late rally with a single and a run scored. Ulery also drew a walk.
Tides wll try to wash away the Blues this weekend.
The Tides will take on the Blues this weekend. With two games left the Tides will look to end the season on a good note. And do not forget, the all star game is this Saturday at Jay Littleton Field. Ulery and Young will be there, so head out and support them.
Tides Zapped by Buzz!
The Tides fell behind the 8 ball in the first inning as Spears was beat up. Ulery came in and had zero defense behind him, six runs scored in his outing only one of which was earned. Brent Wilson took over in relief and got hit around a bit, but mostly kept the Buzz in check. The Offense kept chiseling away however could not catch up with the Buzz. The Tides lost their chances of ending the season at .500 and will not be going to the playoffs. On a brighter note, the all-star game is this Saturday. Ulery and Young will be attending, Doen was also selected but due to prior obligations Young will take his place. Ulery is hitting .483 and Young is at .321
Tides travel to Covina to take on Buzz! This Sunday @ 12:15.
The Tides will take on the Buzz this weekend. The Tides need to win the final three games to finish the year at .500. The Tides face the bootom of the barrel teams in the last three weeks and on paper look to have a good chance to finish with the mark.
Tides Sending three players to all star game.
Matt Ulery INF Jeff Doen OF Tim Young OF Have been selected to represent the Tides at the all star game Saturday August 1st.
Horseman Ride All Over Tides.
The Tides hopes of an outside playoff chance was run over by a Horseman assault Sunday. With many of their players not able to play, they massacred 18 to 1. The Tides will now play to just get back to .500.
Tides Meet up with Horseman for round two!
The Tides will take on the Horseman after a big win last week against the Azusa A's. Manager Manny De La Rosa will be back at the helm as well. The Tides are hopefully on their way back to .500 and with some good hops, finish the season over that mark.
Wilson Leads Tides Over A's.
Big game for the Tides, Ace pitcher Brent Wilson delivered a big game for his club and the offense awoke from it's slumber. Tim Young led the hitting parade and Jesse Gil's debut was superb. Gil showed off that golden glove he is known for and was great at the dish tallying two hits and a walk. Doen and Ulery also had three hits apiece.
Tony Arevalos Retires from Baseball.

Gil To Make Debut against A's this weekend.

Dirtbags Muddy Up The Tides.
The Tides fell once again to the Dirtbags Sunday. The tides record has now fallen to 5-8 with the season winding down. They will take on the A's this weekend at 3:30pm Diamond Bar Field.
Tides Try to Right the Ship against Dirtbags.
Happy Fourth of July weekend. The Tides will play America's game at 9am as they honor America. The Tides will take on the Dirtbags for the second time this season, they came up just short the last time due to bad defense. The Tides will look to shore up that defense this weekend and try to get their season back on track.
Tides Reenact Custer's Last Stand, Indians Prevail.
The Tides came into Diamond Bar with High hopes, but they crushed their own hopes with some of the worst defense ever seen on a baseball field. Wherever the ball went the Tides couldn't stop it. It was a horrible display unseen to this eye since the days of tee-ball. The Tides have now lost 4 straight and their season may just be slipping away.
Tides Look To get Back to Winning Ways Against Indians.
Indians (0-9) v.s Tides (5-6)
The Tides look to climb back to .500 this weekend against the win-less Indians. They will be without catcher Erik Amato, however. After last week's fiasco the Tides need to cut loose and have fun out on the field. The Tides offense has been missing the past few weeks, before the past three games they averaged 10 runs a game. The Tides need to gain their spark and swagger back to stay in the race for the playoffs.
Ringers Lead to Fury pounding of Tides.
The Tides looked to be the favorites on paper. That however changed when they reached the ballpark. The Fury were a changed team some mid season call-ups have turned them into an all-star team. Pitcher Derrik Joyce looked like Roy Halladay fooling Tides hitters all day. The Tides were overwhelmed by this team that had a record of 3-6 and had little pop. Suddenly with these mid season callups they were smashing balls and playing AAA level baseball. This is the last thing the Tides expected and they fell flat on their faces and fell to 5-6 on the season falling below .500 for the first time.
Tides Need To Get It Going.
As You can see the Tides have loss two in a row and have slipped way below
Tides Take On Fury 6/21/09
Tides take on the Fury at Rowland. Tides(5-5) and Fury(3-6) will get it on this weekend 3:30 @ Red Hill Park.
Braves Beat Up On Tides, Tides fall to .500.
The Tides offense was vexxed by Braves starter Jose Zavalla. They actually hit the ball hard a number of times, but the ball always wounded up in a Braves glove. The Tides could only muster 4 hits and never got past second base. Ulery had major control problems to begin the game and was the victim of Diamond Bar Field when a routine fly ball in most parks wound up just over the left field fence. Wilson came in, in the third and kept them at bay for the remainder of the game, however it was too late for the Tides. The loss sets the Tides back to .500.
Tides and Braves this weekend.
Braves(7-2) Vs Tides(5-4)
The Tides welcome the Braves to Diamond Bar field. It's been awhile since the Tides were home, home may be just the place for the Tides to get their feet back under them. The loss to the Yardogs left a sour taste in their mouth's after a blown call at home plate gave the Yardogs a walk off win. As Ulery lied face first in the dirt after an obvious tag on the shoulder pitcher Halverson and De La Rosa barked at umpire Sergio Vendei. Vendei walked away in defiance angering the Tides further.
Tides Lose in the Ninth.
In an amazing game and a battle back and forth, The Yardogs got the benefit of a botched call at home plate to get a walkof win in Azusa, Sunday morning. The Tides got out to a 3 nothing lead in the first inning and a half, but the yardogs scratched in two runs in the second and third to tie it up. The Tides defense took a hit in the fifth to give the Yardogs the lead. The Yardogs brought in their dominant right hander who shut the Tides down until the ninth. The Yardogs called on their closer Chavez in the ninth and the Tides responded. Ulery singled, Doen doubled to follow. With runners at second and third Wilson hit a deep fly ball that turned into a double scoring Ulery. De La Rosa grounded a ball back to the pitcher looking to end the inning however Chavez through it away allowing the tying run to score. Hughes made the final out on a ground out. In the bottom half a single and a stolen base by Renhold got him into scoring position. Ester then roped a grounder at Spears that went off his glove, Young fired home. Ulery caught it and dove appearing to tag Renhold on the left shoulder, but umpire Len Rodriguez called Renhold safe. The replay clearly showed Rodriguez was in bad position and missed the call. Ulery clearly tagged Renhold on the shoulder. The Yardogs victory gives them a three game lead over the Braves and A's. The Tides fell to 5-4 with the loss. In the end the Tides played a great game, they didn't have all star catcher Erik Amato for the game. They still played a great game and never let the Yardogs out of their sights.
Tides Prepare for Showdown With Yarddogs.
The Tides ready their bats to invade the yardogs. The Tides look to give the yardogs their second loss of the season.
Center Fielder Arevalos put on inactive list.
Arevalos has been put on the inactive list due to personal reasons. The Tides put out a statement yesterday.
"We wish Tony the best and hope he comes back to us soon." "For now Jeff Doen will take over center field."
Tides Rough Up Pilots.
The tides offense exploded led by Jeff Doen who got on base each at bat. Manny De la Rosa broke out of his slump going 3 for 4 in the ballgame. The Tides are now 5 and 3 and are poised to get a shot at the top teams starting next week.
Tides ready to make this rough for Pilots.
Tides look to get back on track against the Pilots this weekend at an early 9am game in Pasadena John Muir High School. They'll be without starting pitcher Seth Halverson and center fielder Tony Arevalos.
Storm Falls on Tides. Tides lose 14-8.
May 17, 2009
It was quite a messy game for the Tides. The offense was flat and the defense was horrendous. Nothing seemed to go right for the Tides whether it was a bad hop, misplayed ball, bad throw, bad call. All these occurred in the ballgame. The umpiring was almost as bad as the Tides defense which says a lot. The Tides have to get moving and get some momentum. Another weekend off is not going to help them with that, but they will have to remain tough and get back to what they do best and that is score runs! The loss sets the Tides back to 4-3.
Tides take on Storm this weekend Sunday @ 12:15
Storm Vs Tides
Tides look to keep rolling against the heavy hitting Storm.
Tides Offense kicking in high gear!
If anything can be said for the Tides season thus far the offense has been spectacular. Amato has truly been a godsend for this club in the clean up spot. He is still hitting over .700 for the season which is unheard of. Wilson who came over with Amato is also tearing the cover off the ball. Ulery is hitting over .500 and also drawing some walks as well. New shortstop Tim Young has surprised many with his bat hitting at a clip of .400. Left fielder Jimmy Spears is still rolling and first basemen Casey Hughes is looking much better than in years passed. The Tides got clipped with the injury bug to players like Jeff Doen and Steven Curiel, but that time has passed and both players had big returns from their trips to the DL. The Tides start up once more this weekend, so if you want to see some runs score, come on out to the ballpark.
Tides Down Birds.
May 3, 2009
The Tides stayed close thanks to Seth Halverson keeping his team in the game with some good pitching. He was a little wild, but held the Orioles down. Ulery came up with a two run single to give the Tides the lead late and then Ulery took the mound and slammed the door giving the Tides a hard fought win.
Curiel Rehabs
May 1, 2009
Steven Curiel finally got back to baseball. He played a rehab game with the Tides farm team the Diamond Bar Waves. Curiel led off for the Waves and went 2 for 3 with a double and made a fine defensive play as well. He will rejoin the Tides this Sunday. He will play his usual second base and bat second.
Tides Roar Back, but fall in the Ninth!
The Tides looked like they were going to have a short day after an 11 run inning by the Astros. The inning was fueled on multiple errors by the club. The Tides bats immediately responded with 6 runs capped off by Brent Wilson's 3-run home run. Erik Amato came into pitch to keep the damage to a minimum. Amato did very well, the defense made a few more lapses, but the Tides bats roared back once more. Brent Wilson hit his second three run homer and the Tides pulled within 5. In the 9th Ulery Walked and scored on an Amato triple. Spears got on due to a misplayed ball, Doen followed with a single. Hughes was called out on a questionable strike, all this set the stage for shortstop Tim Young. Young blooped the ball to right allowing Spears and Doen to score and tie the game. Sandoval and Guerrero walked and Arevalos was called out on a terrible strike three call. In the bottom half of the ninth an infield single and a bloop got runners to 1st and 3rd Amato unleashed a sinking fastball that bouced away from Ulery, the play at the plate was close as Ulery slid and fired to Amato, but it was too late.
On the bright side: The Tides showed a lot of heart in digging themselves out of a 12 to nothing hole, to come back and tie the score at 16.
Brent Wilson hit two three run home runs.
Jeff Doen returned from the DL to tally 4 hits in his season debut.
Tides Second Basemen Steven Curiel goes to DL.
The Tides will have to do without their second basemen for awhile. Steven Curiel will be out indefinitely with a leg injury. He injured it the second game of the season on a swing and then aggravated it running down the line to try and beat a throw.
Tides Roll Past Padres.
The Tides whacked the Padres pitching around on Sunday and overwhelmed the Pads hanging another 14 on the scoreboard. The Tides keep rising and look to keep it going next Sunday. Second basemen Tim young had three hits, as did Manny De La Rosa who reached base all four times. Ulery and Amato were solid in the 3 and 4 wholes, Brent Wilson stole two bases in the game as well.

Billy Halverson INF David Guerrero OF.
In other news P/INF Jeff Doen will possibly return next week.
Tides Beat Horseman 14 to 10
It wasn't pretty, but the Tides got the job done. The middle innings were no fun to watch, but the offense kept pounding away and made sure the Horseman couldn't catch up. The Tides are now 2 and 1, they have a week off due to Easter and will get back to it on the 19th. De La Rosa had a three run double to keep the Tides up in the 6th.

Tides Rally But Fall Short of Dirtbags.
The Tides found themselves down by 10 and in danger of the mercy rule. However they rallied back from a 13 to 3 deficit. They dug themselves a hole with sloppy play and some lucky bounces early on by the dirtbags. Amato hit for the cycle and Ulery added 3 hits, but it just wasnt enough as the Tides fell 13 to 9. To rally back like they did showed a lot of Heart and the Tides know they can beat the Dirtbags who only hit three balls solid the whole game.
