Truth Boys earn Championship in Kinston

May 3, 2015

The Truth boys played an outstanding weekend of baseball in Kinston, and gave an exceptional  effort all weekend long. The boys earned Nations rings for their Championship. Numerous comments were received regarding their attitude and character displayed, thank you Truth family for being an example. Our devotion was about the home plate umpire, and our home plate umpire joined us for our tournament devotion. We also learned from the book of Joshua to not worship other gods, and to choose who we will serve.

The Truth Boys finished 2-1 this weekend in a Nations Tournament at The Factory. Defense allowed 0 runs against them in the first two games. Truth played a talented Rampage team for the championship game. Our devotion for the tournament was about the "scouting report". As all teams keep a scouting report against their opponents, how do we measure up with God's scouting report about us?

Truth earns a Championship in Top Gun Winter World Series

October 26, 2014

The Truth Boys fought hard all day on Sunday and won all 3 games played. The Championship game against the Franklin County Young Guns was a close game, working for every run. Finishing with a score of 3-2, as the boys can explain (they played with 12). The devotion for this week discussed the base on balls and how it's a free pass for the batter when the pitcher misses the mark. The important lesson is that missing the mark with our relationship with Jesus Christ has eternal consequences.

Clayton Warriors join in with Sunday devotion

September 10, 2014

While gearing up for the excitement of the ball field it is easy for us to miss what is important. This Sunday we studied "The Change Up" as described in James. It teaches us to be quick to hear, slow to speak, and slow to anger. We explained to the boys that this is a change up from our normal society, where we are quick to judge, quick to speak, and slow to hear. The most impressive and blessed part of the day was seeing the Clayton Warriors team meet us between fields to participate in the devotion and prayer. The end of game prayer was given by the Warriors Coach. What a great day of baseball and spreading the news of Jesus to the young players and families.
