Still here and stronger than ever!
April 30, 2009 The USOEC Weightlifting Resident Program has been granted the honor as an official endeavor sponsored by USA Weightlifing. Thank you to the Board of Directors and everyone who has supported our program. This is most welcome news to all involved and we appreciate your faith in our efforts to become a premier entity in this sport for our nation, both nationally and internationally. A special thank you to Werksan and Pendlay Barbells for sponsoring the effort to provide valuable funds in order to afford us the time to produce a viable solution for long-term funding for the program.
Welcome to the United States Olympic Education Center Weightlifting Team's Website. This program's mission is to develop collegiate level student/athletes to the elite senior level.

Upon his collegiate graduation, Justin will report to Quantico Bay, VA for his first steps in serving our country in our nation's most venerated military division. The Marines' motto of Semper Fidelis is indicative of this young man's character with infallible justice and we all congratulate him with this most honorable decision. Well done Justin!

USOEC athletes compete well at the National Collegiate Championships
April 20, 2009 We had three resident athletes competing in the 2009 National Collegiate Championships. Jessica Gallagher, Justin Brimhall and Collin Ito all did very well in their respective weight classes. Jessica set personal records in the snatch (69) and total (154) while capturing a silver medal in the 63kgs category. Justin competed well and tied for the gold medal being edged out in a hot competition on just .02 kilos of bodyweight taking home the silver medal in the 77 kgs class. Collin Ito recorded a personal best total of 350 kgs in his gold medal winning performance in the 105+ division. Well done and a great job to everyone!
National Athletic Trainers' Position Statement on Hydration
Here is the NATA's guidelines to fluid consumption for athletes. I found the pre, during and post training recommendations most applicable, but other pieces of the article can help with various training situations, too.
Drink some water!!!
