The Somerville Jr. Midget Cheerleaders and Coaches are now in the Guinness World Record Book !!
On November 12, 2011, while competing at the Eastern Regional Cheer Championship, they participated in the "Worlds Largest Cheering Team".
Its an official record for "the greatest number of cheerleaders simultaneously performing a cheer at a single venue".
It was achieved by having 1,278 cheerleaders perform with members of the Science Cheerleading Organization and Pop Warner.
The previous record was held by China during the 2008 Olympics with a cheer team of 1,200.
Congratulations to all our Jr. Midget cheerleaders and their coaches for being apart of this wonderful accomplishment!
