Meet the VISTA X-plosion!
"Success is no accident. It is hard work, perseverance, learning, studying, sacrifice and most of all, love of what you are doing or learning to do." --Pele
Welcome to the website of VISTA X-plosion! We are a rising U-13 team that competes in Division 1 ODSL. Our goals are to have fun, train hard and have a great time together! The X-plosion are coached by Megan Kipp who holds a USSF/VYSA State D License. Coach Megan has 8 years experience coaching girls, and is a member of the Positive Coaching Alliance since 2007. The team is professionally trained once a week by Fabien Lewis (Brazilian Touch.) Fabien currently plays with the Real Maryland FC (USL Division 2.) He played for Trinidad & Tobago's U-17 and U-23 National Team as well as being a defensive standout for George Mason University. The X-plosion is thrilled to have him returning this fall!

Game Highlights

10/31: X-plosion grabs a 2-2 tie against Division Leader FCSC!!!
With Swine Flu and sickness running through the team, we missed Natalia and Natalie today and Ash was finding her legs again. The game began with FCSC controlling the possession and tempo, showing great possession and wing play. The girls held their ground with Vanessa, Rach, Emma, Claire and Colleen holding down the defense. X-plosion was able to penetrate the Fauquier defense many times with Ash and Isabella getting off some good shots. X-plosion was awarded an indirect kick at the 18, as Katie was taken down, and Jess’s shot found Ash who nearly made it 1-0. The middle of the half saw X-plosion showing more wing play, but Fauquier was able to score twice on breakaways as number 27 certainly showed her striking ability. Soph did all she could but the well executed shots left X-plosion being down 2-0 at halftime.
The girl’s again showed that they weren’t going down without a fight. The 2nd half saw improved play as Katie had several breakaways and Jess, Bri, Lucia, Isabella, KC and Ri showed more energy in the midfield. Lucia showed great heart and fought through every ball. Soph made some stupendous stops as well! With 15 minutes left in the game, Ash received a great ball from Lucia to beat the keeper to make it 2-1! The girls were now energized and ready to capitalize on their chances. With only 2 minutes left, Ash scored again on a breakaway created by Jess’s through ball to tie up the game! Although the girls were a little off kilter today, they showed great heart and intensity, coming back from 2 down to tie a great team and never giving up!
The player(s) of the game today were Ashleigh and Vanessa, Ash, despite being sick all week scored two goals, had some great shots and showed focus and leadership on the field. She capitalized on her chances and never gave up. Great Job Ash! Vanessa was a great stable force in the back, pushing up and limited Fauquier chances to shoot, Great Job Vanessa!!!
