Warrington 11 Blue competes for District 10 Title

The 11-year old Blue team faces Doylestown on Monday, July 2nd at 6:00pm for the Cal Ripken 70 foot District 10 Title at Tri-Township's fields located at Middletown Grange, 576 Penns Park Road Wrightstown, PA. Directions here. Come out and support our team!

Warrington LumberKings 10 Blue captures District 10 Title
The Warrington 10 Blue team had revenge on their minds this past Monday when they faced neighborhood rival Doylestown in the District 10 title game. The Tigers handed the LumberKings their only Suburban Travel loss this year and also defeated Warrington in the District championship game last year. Starting pitcher Chad Ebinger took matters into his own hands – literally. Ebinger pitched a complete game – allowing just three hits and two runs to lead Warrington to a 3-2 victory over Doylestown. The win gives the LumberKings their second District championships in the past three seasons. In this last three outings, Ebinger has allowed four runs (two earned) in 14 innings.

The LumberKings jumped out to an early two-run lead in the first. Ebinger led off the game with a walk and Logan Balestrieri singled to put runners on first and second. Clean-up hitter Antonio Rossillo smashed a ground-rule double to make it 1-0. Centerfielder Brock Veit lined a single to right to make it 2-0 after one. Doylestown scored an unearned run in the fourth to make it 2-1. Warrington got that run back in their half of the next inning when Nick Thompson scored on Patrick Shaeffer’s sacrifice fly to right field. Things got a little dicey in the sixth inning as Doylestown scored a run to cut the lead to 3-2 and had runners on first and third with two out. Ebinger got out of the jam by inducing a ground ball to Warrington shortstop Alex Dietz. Dietz fielded the grounder and flipped it to second baseman Dalton Grochowski to end the game. The LumberKings had nine hits while Doylestown managed just three. Brian Finn was 1-for-2 with a double and Stephen McMillan also had a single for Warrington. With the victory, Warrington earned its third straight state tournament appearance. States begin Friday, July 6 in Langhorne. Good luck LumberKings!
Warrington Travel teams vying for State Titles

News Flash!!!

The Warrington Travel "Even" teams, 8s, 10s, and 12s, all advanced to the finals of the Cal Ripken District 10 Championship games.  The 8s and 12s were District 10 Finalists and the 10s were District 10 Champions!  With their success, all three teams are advancing onto their respective State Tournaments.

The Eight Year old State Tournament is being held at Barness Park here starting Friday, July 6th with a skills competition.  The 10-year Old State tournament starts the same night in Langhorne, PA and the 12s start (you guessed it!), on Friday, July 6th as well at Central Perk.

Not to be out-done, the "Odds", the 9s and 11s get their districts underway this weekend. The 11-year old Blue team squares off this weekend to compete for the 70 foot District Title at Tri-Township's fields located at Middletown Grange, 576 Penns Park Road Wrightstown, PA. Directions here.

The 9-year old Warrington team will compete for the District 10 Title at Barness Park here starting Friday, June 29th.

Finally, representing Warrington White, both the 11 and 12 year old teams are the District 10 Representatives in the 46/60 State Tournaments in their respective age groups.  The 11 White team is both competing in, and hosting, the combined 46/60 State Tournament at Barness.  The 12 White team will represent District 10 in the State Tournament in nearby Springfield, PA.

Astros take Majors Championship 3-2 over the Mets
The Houston Astros of the Warrington Youth Baseball Majors division capped off an outstanding year with a 3-2 victory over the Mets. The Stros were led by strong pitching and solid defense throughout the year. Nothing seem to change entering the final game against the Mets in the championship. Brock Dalaurio pitched 3 strong innings and Brian Rossi and Peyton Fox finished the game off to secure the win. You knew it was the Astros game when Jeremy Kane laid out in left field for one of the most electrifying catches you'll every see. Coach Bob Rossi credits all the kids for there hard work and dedication throughout the season. "Each kid got better as the season went on", Rossi said. "They are a great group of boys and it was a pleasure to coach them. Congratulations Astros and Boo if you could lead us one last time 1, 2, 3, ASTROS"
Warrington LumberKings 10 Blue Captures Suburban Crown
The Warrington LumberKings 10 Blue team faced a daunting task last week. Not only did they have to face undefeated Morrisville (16-0) in the Suburban Travel League final, they had to play them on their home field. The LumberKings rose to the challenge as they pounded out 14 hits en route to a 10-5 victory over Morrisville. The win gives the Warrington 10 Blue squad its first Suburban Travel League title.
Leading the way offensively for Warrington was Stephen McMillan who was 2-for-3 with three RBI and Brock Veit, who had a booming two-run triple. Alex Dietz, Antonio Rossillo, Brian Finn, Ryan Zakrzewski, & Dalton Grochowski each had RBI hits. Logan Balestrieri walked twice and scored a run; Tyler Dalzell had a single and scored a run and Nick Thompson went 1-for-2 with a run scored.
Chad Ebinger tossed four strong innings – allowing just two runs on five hits. Closer Ryan Zakrzewski pitched the final two innings. Gamer Patrick Shaeffer (1-for-2) caught the entire game and was team’s emotional leader.
The LumberKings recently captured the Bensalem Father’s Day championship as well – defeating Newtown 6-5 in nine innings.

Warrington Youth Baseball Division Overview
Warrington Youth Baseball (WYB) is a Cal Ripken/Babe Ruth Organization, and provides opportunities for players within our Cal Ripken Boundaries the ability to learn the game of baseball, and have a safe and fun baseball experience. In addition, to the in-house programs outlined below, WYB has travel teams which begin at age 8 and run through age 12 that play in the Suburban Travel Baseball or River Leagues.

Instructional Baseball (for ages 4-8)
At this level, the player is taught the basics of baseball - how to throw, catch, hit, run - and the rules. This bracket is made up of 4 divisions - teeball (4 & 5 year olds), coach pitch (5 & 6 year olds), and machine/kid pitch (a 7 year old division and an 8 year old division). The 8 year old in-house league team selection is on a draft. Travel baseball starts at 8 years old for those that want to play baseball at an even more competitive pace.

Minor League Baseball (for ages 9-10)
The minor league is a preparatory bracket for players to learn some of the finer points of the game and begin to play to win. Limited base stealing, player pitching and a slightly higher level of competition. Travel baseball is offered for all players in this bracket. The travel program is on a try-out basis. The in-house league team selection is on a draft - usually in February/March. You must play in-house to be on a travel team.

Major League Baseball (for ages 11-12)
The major league program is one of the highest levels of play for youth baseball. We will have no more than 10 teams at the majors level. We will play for a league championship and get into some advanced level skills. At the Major Division level all teams play on a field that has a 50' pitching mound distance and 70' base paths. Travel ball is offered at this level with tryouts in the winter. You must play in-house to be on a travel team.

Warrington Baseball's Connie Mack and American Legion program provides further opportunities for players ages 13-18. For more information on these teams please visit the website at www.warringtonbaseball.com
