ABA ENTERS INTO SPONSORSHIP AGREEMENT WITH NASCAR TEAM
April 29, 2009
Indianapolis, IN. The American Basketball Association (ABA) today announced that it has entered into a Sponsorship Agreement with JD Motorsports, Inc., owners of Car #01 in the NASCAR Nationwide Series driven by Danny O' Quinn. "We are very excited about this relationship," stated ABA CEO Joe Newman. "Johnny Davis, the CEO and General Manager, has a fabulous organization, a great crew, excellent driver and his cars are very competitive. It is a team on the move. We can't wait to see our logo on the car."
Johnny Davis has been affiliated in NASCAR competition for over 27 years. He won a NASCAR Busch Series Championship with Larry Pearson in 1987. "We're determined to build race teams with character," stated Davis, "and achieving our ultimate goal - winning while enjoying the sport. We're pleased to be associated with the ABA and its rich heritage."
At 6'5", Danny O'Quinn tends to stand up in a crowd. When he is in a race car, it is no different. He has excelled in racing since he got into his first go-kart at the age of seven, competing and winning races in series of all kinds while accumulating multiple championships. In 2006, he was the NASCAR Busch Series Rookie of the Year with 1 top five, 5 top 10 finishes.. In 2004, in USAR Hooters Pro Cup Southern Division, he had one win, four top fives, 11 top 10s, one pole and finished seventh in points. "I'm very proud to have the ABA logo on my car. I hope that fans throughout the country will watch for us and cheer us on. We have many races coming up and we feel that we are getting better all the time."

New ABA Teams Coming to the Pacific Northwest
April 10, 2009
Pacific Northwest Co-Directors for the ABA, Regina and Tim Joseph, are proud to announce that new teams will be competing in the 2009-2010 season. Teams are being formed in Everett, Seattle, Spokane, Yakima, Walla Walla, Vancouver-WA, and Portland to begin play in December 2009. Idaho and Montana teams will be joining the ABA beginning with the 2010 season.
The Joseph's are looking for names for the new teams and would like the area school kids help.
This is a formal announcement that we are conducting a contest to name the new ABA teams, which are owned by Regina Joseph. The contest will end at midnight on June 30, 2009.
The winners will receive season tickets to the teams 2009-2010 games for themselves and their immediate family and an authentic ABA basketball signed by your new ABA team.
We are looking for strong team names, maybe something historical to the area...
Names cannot be the same as a major league franchise, such as Trailblazers or Mariners, unless they have completely different definitions. An example of this is the Washington Raptors of the ABA and the Toronto Raptors of the NBA, the Washington Raptors are the birds of prey, the Toronto Raptors are the dinosaurs.
By allowing the youth to name the new teams, we hope to create a buzz that will intrigue our future basketball fans.
