Out of Bounds/Lantana

At a District 7
Meeting on Wednesday evening, the former Lantana boundaries were discussed
but not yet formally absorbed by WBLL and other local leagues. A
meeting to finalize the boundaries will be held in the next few weeks.
(well...apparently this process somewhat resembles the discussion of school
district boundaries...literally)
In the mean time, WBLL will
allow those who live in the area on
this map (inside the
RED
boxes) to register. For a close up of that map, click
here. To avoid the prolonged tooth-ache like pain this situation
could be causing for some...even if the boundaries are settled next week
where a family ends up in another league's territory, a player can
participate at WBLL but they will be participating with out of bounds
privileges. That means they will have to go through the Out of Bounds
Waiver process which will probably result in those players not being able to
participate in All Star tournaments. You can read more about the Out

MAKE UP WBLL Evaluations -
Spring 2010
Monday, January 18th

WBLL will hold a make
up Evaluation session for the Spring 2010 season this coming Saturday,
January 23rd. The make up session will be at the same location as this
past weekend's session...Fields 8 and 9 at West Boynton Park. These are the
fields which are on the south side of West Boynton Park by the inline stake
and skateboard rinks.
Make up Schedule:
Coach Pitch: 7.30am Check-in with an 8am start
Minors: 9.30am Check-in with a 10am start
Majors: 11am Check-in with an 11.30am start
Juniors/Seniors: 12.30pm Check-in with a 1pm start
NOTE: even though this is a make up session, you
must still come during your division's time above. In other words,
Coach Pitch Players (and, unfortunately, parents) should not sleep in until
10am and show up for the Minors evaluation.
All players should plan on
coming prepared as if they were showing up for a game or practice.
This would include glove, cleats, baseball uniform (e.g. baseball pants...no
shorts, please), bat and helmet.
Each player will be asked to hit, field, throw
and run. While the evaluations are taking place, only players,
evaluators and WBLL authorized personnel are permitted on the fields.
Managing candidates are required to attend but are not permitted on the
field.
Other Important Information:

All players need
to be at the fields no less than 30 minutes prior to their division's
start time above. This will allow players/parents to check-in and the
players to warm up. Warm ups are 30 mins prior to the evaluation start
time...the evaluations start at the times indicated below...all players
should be ready to go at the scheduled start times;

In order to be
eligible for the Spring 2010 draft, a player must attend the entire
evaluation session and cannot leave early. If a player leaves early, he/she
will be assigned randomly to a team after the draft;

There will be no
mixing of players/divisions. In other words, a minors player must
attend the minors evaluation...not the Coach Pitch or any other
division's time slot. This is necessary so those doing the evaluations
are able to evaluate players against those in their own division;

A responsible
adult must remain at the fields during the entire evaluation. As
parents, please come prepared for a +2 hour stay at the fields...such as
a chair, book...anything to help you pass the time in a sane and safe
manner;

the Bundy family
who runs the Dugout Cafe will be at the fields on Saturday with food and
drinks;

PLAYERS
WBLL made a change regarding Out of Bounds Players and the Spring
2010 Registration cycle. If you are an Out of Bounds family, you are
strongly encouraged to read
this document BEFORE you register for the Spring 2010 season. WBLL
is NOT responsible for any fees or costs associated for those who register
for WBLL who should not being registering for WBLL. If you have any
