The Blades lose a short handed game to Depew #2 6-4!
February 5, 2012 – 12:00 PM —
Last Fiday night at the Hockey Outlet the Depew #2 team came to town for a 6:30pm home game. It was a battle of the 2nd place teams from each of the 2 MOHL Divisions. The game looked bleak from the start with only 7 players + our goalie showing up to play, but even with a short bench the Blades were able to take a 4-2 lead in the second period. Unfortunately our boys ran out of gas in the third and surrendered 4 unanswered goals to take a 6-4 loss. James Fiend played a good game in goal. Gospodarski, Jenica, Lichtenthal and Weeks buried the biscuit for Wheatfield. Wheatfield's record is now 15-6-3 and has some tough competition coming up in the next few games.
Next up is the Hamburg#1 team at the Hockey Outlet this Tuesday 02/7/2012 at 9:00pm. Be there!
