2010 WCFL Cheerleading Coaches!!! Our Cheer Program is Growing by Leaps and Bounds Every Year!!!
We had a record year in 2009 and you won't want to miss being part of the magic in 2010.
WCFL Cheerleading will continue with it's format of recreational teams which will compete in the Orange Bowl Competition) and traveling/competition teams. Travel/Competition teams will be coached by the most senior coaching staff members that have been in the program and will be hand-chosen by the Cheer Commissioner! These teams will be determined by evaluations/tryouts. If a cheerleader does not make one of these teams they will have a position on a recreational team.
We need help from all of you...if you are interested in a being a Head Coach, an Assistant Coach or a Junior Coach for 2010, please fill out a coaches application (even if you coached with us before, fill one out please) and forward it to WCFL Cheerleading to reserve your spot and help us coach the Best of the Best in 2010!!!!
So, stay tuned...our first cheer coaches meeting will be in late February or early March.

The Palms West Chamber of Commerce has confirmed that the WCFL has received 1st place honors as a Marching Group at the 26th Annual Palms West Holiday Parade!!

INSIDE THE ORANGE BOWL YOUTH FOOTBALL ALLIANCE
Inside the Orange Bowl YFA is ready to kick off the 2009 season as the youth sports magazine show returns for its seventh installment for nine weeks beginning September 24th, featuring the "best of the best" from the Orange Bowl Youth Football Alliance (OBYFA). The Inside the Orange Bowl YFA will air each and every Thursday at 5:00 p.m. statewide on SunSports channel.
With assistance from its sponsors American Airlines, Doctors Hospital, PlayMaker Charities and Foundation, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Florida, Land Shark Stadium, Nestle Waters/Zephyrhills, MetroPCS, AutoNation and Toyota, the 30-minute program is fast-paced but, at the same time, provides a comprehensive look at the OBYFA's nine leagues -- and it appeals to both children and adults.
Its unique because "its probably the only television show in the country that showcases youth football players, cheerleaders and programs,"; said Orange Bowl Youth Sports Manager Jose A. Regalado "The kids love to watch themselves on TV so it encourages them to play hard and remain involved."
The program includes various segments each week such as a weekly health tip, faces in the crowd and plenty of game highlights including the “game of the week” and top plays. Highlights on players and cheerleaders favorite school subjects, favorite football team and hobbies are included in each show as well as the “academic spotlight” segment that features a player or cheerleader who is excelling in school. Additionally, players and cheerleaders demonstrate team pride and unity by introducing themselves at the end of each segment.
Entering its 11th season, the Orange Bowl Youth Football Alliance (OBYFA) is home to more than 15,000 youth football players and cheerleaders in South Florida. The OBYFA consists of nine member leagues in eight South Florida counties including Miami-Dade, Broward, Palm Beach, Monroe, Martin, St. Lucie, Collier and Lee. Since its inception, the OBC has invested more than $4 million in youth sports in South Florida.

** Lighting Policy **
The Village of Wellington Parks will close the fields when lightning is close to the area. The lightning alarms are working and will sound an alarm. The fields will be closed for at least a minimum of 30 minutes after each lighting strike or until the "all clear" sign sounds again.
All players, coaches & parents MUST immediately wait in their cars until the fields are cleared again for use. No longer is the warehouse/concession building to be used as a "safe zone."
Without a paging system, you will be notified to the best of the League's ability, of the most updated field conditions.
