In Loving Memory of John Richards
The Wilton Manors Baseball family would like to express our deepest condolences to the Richards family. With great sadness, we have learned of the passing of John Richards.
John Richards was a friend, a coach and a huge supporter of Wilton Manors Baseball, but most importantly, John was a great, kind hearted husband and father. John coached youth soccer and baseball for the city of Wilton Manors and was loved by everybody that knew him. A genuine man that told you like it was and would give the shirt off of his back for anyone in need. His business, Gulf Plating, was a long time sponsor of Wilton Manors Baseball. Not only would John sponsor a team each year, but John would donate extra money towards player registration fees, for families that could not afford to register their children. John took great pride in supporting the children of Wilton Manors and his efforts will never be forgotten. We will miss John Richards forever and we will be eternally grateful for the love and support that he has shown towards our baseball program and the youth of Wilton Manors.

The New Era of Wilton Manors Baseball March 10, 2008
Wilton Manors Little League first chartered in 1955. The demographic changes that we have seen over the past 10 years have made us branch out and pursue the addition of othe league affiliations. As we will continue to offer a Little League program, we will also offer program affiliation with Babe Ruth and the Florida Premier Baseball League.
Our goal is to keep the baseball program in Wilton Manors alive and thriving. We will put together teams in whichever program can provide a solid season full of games for the participants of our program. The times have changed and we will adapt.

2008 Team Sponsors
Keeping The Faith February 21, 2008
Wilton Manors Baseball depends heavily on the sponsorship from the residents and business owners of our community. Since Wilton Manors Baseball is a non-profit organization, all funds go directly to the program and the players. Hats, jersey's, socks, belts, umpires, balls, bats and concession stand supplies are just a few items and they add up quickly. Without our league's sponsors, our operation would be impossible. Though we certainly appreciate all of our sponsors from every year, there are a few that we would like to express our appreciation to for a continued support, year after year, for many years:
Hamill Tire-
The combined punch of the Hamill brothers (owners and operators) have been supporting Wilton Manors Baseball since the early 70's. Year after year, Hamill Tire has supported the baseball playing children of their community and our league appreciates their service!
Barton & Miller Cleaners-
Sherry and Rick Miller have continued to be team sponsors for over 17 years. We certainly appreciate their dedication and persistance. Many Wilton Manors players have had "Barton & Miller Cleaners" on their jersey's and hats. Thank you Barton & Miller Cleaners for takink care of the kids, year after year!
Gulf Plating-
Owner John Richards not only has been a long time sponsor, John has volunteered time as a coach and a volunteer. In addition to his long time team sponsorship, John takes care of registration fee's for some of the children from families that can not afford the registration fee's. These are children that would not have the opportunity to play, if it was not for the support of John Richards and Gulf Plating. Thank you John!
These sponsors have made baseball possible for hundreds of Wilton Manors Kids!

Pudge Rodriguez Spotted at Mickel Field!
During the 14 & Under Gator game vs. PPO Bengals, Detroit Tiger, Pudge Rodriguez was on hand at Mickel Field to watch his son play and get some family time.
The Gators of Wilton Manors went on to win the game and then Ivan Rodriguez was gracious with the kids, giving them autographs and posing for pictures, after the game. It was nice to have a great MLB player watching a game at the historical, Mickel Field and we really appreciate his kindness to our kids.
