General Meeting - December 2nd
Warwick Township Baseball will host a general meeting on December 2nd at 7pm at the township building. Topics will include Opening Day, indoor clinics, travel tryouts, capital projects (including bathrooms, snack stand and pavilion!!) and fundraising.  All are welcome to simply attend the meeting to learn more about the league or come out and get involved.

WTB is an all-volunteer organization that can only function with the support of its members.  We are still in need of volunteers for the positions and committees listed below.  Find out more information at the meeting and pick an area that interests you.

Openings for 2010
Opening Day Committee– Coordinates and organizes Opening Day which includes the Concessions coordinator, the Intramural Director and others. (NEED CHAIRPERSON AND COMMITTEE MEMBERS)

Fundraising Committee – Coordinates WTB’s fundraising efforts for the great capital improvements planned for the next year and more.

Suburban Travel Representative – Attend Suburban Travel meetings (no more than monthly, usually about 5 per year) and communicate information to coaches; submit rosters and some other basic information to Suburban.

Trophies– Order trophies for league winners and runners up and for Skills Competition.

Skills Competition – Coordinates WTB’s skills competition, including scheduling the Phillies Home Run Derby (which the Phillies team runs) and the other competitions (which All Star Baseball Academy has run for the last 2 years). Making sure trophies and prizes are available, that communication with team parents and coaches is done and that equipment is set up on that day. (NEED CO-CHAIR)

Team Parent Coordinator – Meet with all team parents along with the coordinators for Picture Day, Opening Day, Uniforms, Skills Competition and others, to be sure the team parents understand their responsibilities for the season.  In 2009, WTB would like to document some of the responsibilities so that we can provide each team parent with a checklist for the season.

Rookie & T-Ball Coordinator - Oversee the teams in the league including 1)working with the coaches and the Intramural Director to select teams and review rules, 2)scheduling make up games and practices (The league schedule is done by computer program by the Intramural Director) and 3) getting equipment and uniforms to the coaches.

Umpires & Umpire Training – WTB uses an umpire service which will provide umpires for all of our in house (Majors and AAA) and home travel games.  The coordinator makes sure the service has the correct schedules and knows if games are rained out or rescheduled.  In 2009, WTB began using Junior umpires to ump some games (primarily AA and AAA) and to work the bases on other games.  The coordinator also schedules the training for the Junior umpires and provides schedules for those umpires. (NEED CO-CHAIR)

Tournament Director – Coordinate the summer tournament season including the tryout process, Little League Tournament duties, scheduling and paperwork.

Hope to see everyone on December 2nd and don’t forget to register!

2010 Registration is Now Open!

Believe it or not, it's time to start planning for the 2010 Spring Warwick Township baseball season.

As the Bulldogs prepare for our 4th season, we are planning for the biggest improvements yet at Guinea Lane Park.  Our partnership with the Warwick Township Board of Supervisor and Park Board continues to be strong.  In September, WTB's 5 year plan was supported by the Board of Supervisors which means we will be working with the Park Board on a number of great projects, the biggest of which is the upgrade of the pavilion next to Guinea Lane field #3.  The goal is to replace the existing pavilion with a new one to include bathrooms, storage space and a new snack stand.

We also have support to add more dugouts and make additional field improvements over the next couple of seasons.  This is all great news for all the Bulldogs, but it will require everyone's support to make these plans become a reality.

As we plan towards Opening Day April 2010, you will receive additional information about these plans and the fund-raising efforts required to accomplish them.  We will need a lot of volunteers and good ideas, so if you would like to get more involved with Bulldogs baseball please let us know!

Thanks and we look forward to another great season in 2010!
