Cheerleading Rally

NOV 14, 2009 AT WESTBLOOMFIELD HIGH SCHOOL, 4925 ORCHARD LAKE ROAD, WEST BLOOMFIELD, MI 48323

The rally starts at 9:00am and will end around 4:00pm.

No admission fee.

The rally will be crowded so if you plan to come try to arrive early.

The cheer part of the rally will take place in the morning then there will be a break for lunch. After lunch the dance part of the competition will start at 1:00

The Banquet will be a brunch. The start time will be from 10am-12:00 noon. Tickets will be $13.00 each and 2 tickets for $25. Parents that have met the volunteer obligation this year will be offered to use the $25 volunteer fee to offset the cost of 2 banquet tickets.

TICKETS ARE NOW ON SALE AND ARE AVAILABLE AT PRACTICE. YOU CAN GET THEM FROM 6:30-7:00PM STARTING TUESDAY 10/27/09.

His story is about how one must pursue their dreams and put in the work to make them come true. He also was in the marines for several years.

Equipment Maintenance Reminder

Its getting close to the end of the season and now is a good time to check your equipment to ensure it is in the best shape possible before turning it in. Dates for turning in equipment will be given at a later date but please make sure you have everything you were issued at the begining of the season.

Below is the care instructions given to all parents at the begining of the year. You can also find instructions in the handout sections of this site.

Equipment/ Jersey Care Instructions

(We recommend for you do this weekly)

Helmet: You would think something as strong and durable as a football helmet would resist dirt however, helmets can trap grime and carry grass stains, and the inner helmet will get saturated with sweat to become an incubator for bacteria here’s how to clean it.

To clean the helmet, use a damp cloth with mild detergent (I.e. Dawn). Clean inside and out of the helmet. Using another clean damp cloth, remove the detergent. Then dry with a clean cloth. Dampen a clean cloth with hydrogen peroxide (3% solution). Use enough to moisten the entire inside and outside of the football helmet to disinfect both. Wipe all parts of the face guard too. Let helmet dry.

ABSOLUTELY NO WAX OR CHEMICALS TO BE USED ON HELMET.
DO NOT DISASSEMBLE HELMET
ASK FOR COACHES HELP IF THERE IS A CONCERN OR PROBLEM

Mouth piece: Using a toothbrush, use warm water and toothpaste. Clean regularly.

Shoulder Pads: Using warm water on a cloth (damp, not wet) and a mild detergent ( I.e. dawn). Using another clean damp cloth, remove the detergent. Then dry completely with a clean cloth.

ABSOUTELY NO WAX OR CHEMICALS TO BE USED ON SHOULDER PADS
DO NOTE DISASSEMBLE SHOULDER PADS…ASK FOR COACHES HELP IF THERE IS A CONCERN OR PROBLEM.

Jersey: Squirt SHOUT on the soiled stains, let set a few minutes (as instructed on bottle). Turn jersey inside out and wash in cold water on a mild cycle. For best results: Either place Jersey on a flat surface or hang on a tubular hanger and air dry.

ABSOLUTELY NO BLEACH.

Football Pants/ girdle: DO NOT WASH PANTS WITH THE PANTS PADS IN TACT. Each pair of Pants/ girdle has 7 pads: 2 hip, 1 tailbone, 2 thigh and 2 knee. REMOVE THESE FIRST!!! Continue the wash process by using the “Jersey” instructions above.

ABSOLUTELY NO BLEACH.
TAKE PADS OUT OF THE PANTS BEFORE LAUNDERING.
NOTE: Should you feel there is a problem with the equipment, do not attempt to repair or fix on your own… ask for a Ypsilanti Huron Braves Jr. Football administrator/coach for assistance.

This equipment will be used by your Son or others for years to come. Take pride in this equipment, your son could be using it again next year.

YHB RAIN POLICY

If there are sprinkles or intermittent light showers practice will be held. But if it is a heavy down pour or lightning of any kind, practice will be cancelled. During the time of practice (6-7:30pm)
