"THE CO-OP LEAGUE"

The Anne Arundel Baseball Cooperative (AABC, Co-Op) is a private league of independent, non-profit, community-based youth baseball organizations that operate in Anne Arundel County, Maryland.  Teams entered from the various organizations are RECREATIONAL teams that would otherwise play wholly within their own community organization, and are participating in this league solely to have more teams to play during the season. This is NOT A TRAVEL OR SELECT TEAM LEAGUE!

The Co-Op league is in a partnership with Anne Arundel County Department of Recreation and Parks (R&P) to provide a place to play for R&P - Level One Accredited community organizations that can't otherwise field their own in-house schedule.

Select "The Co-Op" on the main menu for more info, or send email to AABaseballCoop2021@gmail.com.

AGE DETERMINATION AND BAT RULES

Age Determination - The age of a player in Co-Op league will be determined by the player's age on August 31 for the year in question.

For the 2023 FAll and the 2024 SPRING season, the age determination date is AUGUST 31, 2024. The age (in years) your player is on the age determination date designates the age division the player is eligible to participate in.  This matches national youth baseball organizations such as Little League and PONY, and is part of an effort to make all the divisions younger on average, and equivalent to school grade ages.

Bat Rule - The Co-Op follows the same national youth baseball organizations who have adopted USA Baseball's bat program. This is an effort to have metal and composite bats better simulate wood bat performance. Non-wood bats must have a USABat certification sticker. Go to www.usabat.com for a complete list of approved bats.

  • Recommended in 4-5U and 6U
  • Required in 7-8U, 9-10U, 11-12U
  • Optional in 13-15U
  • Not applicable in 16-18U
