Pete Amadeo was born and raised in Bayonne; he is the eldest of 4 siblings: twin brother, James, sister Bernice, brother Marc and sister Elizabeth (also twins).

Pete graduated from Vroom School, St. Peter?s Prep and New Jersey City University. He majored in Business and minored in Sports Management. Pete played four years of baseball at St. Peter?s Prep and NJCU.

Pete began working as a Recreation Program Specialist in City Hall 19 years ago and was named Supervisor of Recreation in April 2008.

Pete oversees the numerous sport leagues that the Division of Recreation offers, for both children and adults, the Summer Sounds by the Bay Music Concert Series, the Summer Employment Program, the Ability Day Program, Holiday Events, the 56th Street Senior Center, the 4th Street Senior Center, the 16th Street Municipal Pool, Pee Wee Basketball, Bike Club and over 20 summer day camps. Amadeo also oversees the Special Needs Sports Program (established 2013) and one of the most rewarding programs, the Special Needs Baseball League, Buddy Baseball (established 2015).

Pete also manages the scheduling of municipal facilities that include the parks, fields, Veterans Stadium, and the Bayonne Museum.

Pete is married to Lisa (Collins) Amadeo and has three children - Matthew (Age 10) Ava (Age 8) and Nicholas (Age 6), where they attend Horace Mann School. Pete?s Parents, Peter, and Bernice, are also lifelong residents, with 13 grandchildren.
