Steve Janssen - Asst. Varsity Coach (Hitting)
Coach Janssen is in his 17th year as a member of the Varsity Baseball
Coaching Staff at Branham High School. Serving as an Assistant
Coach his main focus is working as the team's hitting coach.
Under his instruction and guidance over the past nine years the
Varsity team has posted a team batting average just under .300.
Coach Janssen's other duties include gathering, organizing and
maintaining all of the team's statistical information. During Coach
Janssen's tenure at Branham the team won the CCS Title in 2014
and won league titles in 2007 and 2015.
Coach Janssen has 31 years of coaching experience at every level
from T-ball to high school. He played one year of baseball at
De Anza College in 1975. Coach Janssen has two sons, his oldest
son Greg resides in Livermore with his wife and two children.
Greg has coached and baseball at the high school level.
His youngest son, Eric, played baseball at Branham High School
for four years and played baseball at Sonoma State. He also served
as the Assistant JV coach for two years at Branham.
Eric now lives in Morgan Hill with his wife and three
children. Coach Janssen recently retired from the City of Mountain
View where he worked for 29 years. He has been happily married
to his wife Cindy for 41 years.
