Hunter Zempel

Hunter Zempel will be coaching his first year on the Knights football staff. He will be assisting with the wide receivers and help coordinate with our JV/Frosh programs.

Zempel is also the head soccer coach at Union for the girls' team who has been a traditionally strong team. In 2017 the made it to the state finals.

Hunter was a senior on the 3A 2011 state championship team and started the season as a wide receiver and defensive back while also running back punts. He was injured early in the season but able to take a snap in the final game victory over Decorah in the UNI-Dome. In addition, Zempel was an outstanding wrestler and baseball player at Union, and standout as a soccer player at (Hudson-United),

Hunter is attending the University of Northern Iowa and finishing up his teaching/coaching degree in social studies.
