Coach Pospisil coach safeties this past fall helping the Knights to their 11th consecutive post-season playoff birth. One safety, senior Kaleb Roach was selected for the 2019 Iowa Shrine Bowl north squad. Roach was also a first team all-district selection. Jared has also helped out with the offseason strength and conditioning program.

Jared coordinated the defense and served as the defensive back coach for the Knights from 2008-2012. During his last three years 2010-2012, Union averaged ten wins per season. In addition, he has also served as Union High School’s assistant head football coach.

Four of the five years he served as Union's DC were at the 3A level football. His last season we were 2A 2012 district champions. The 2011 state champions showed a great improvement on defense which helped with postseason victories over Washington, Maquoketa, Solon, A-D-M, and the title game giving up only 14 points to Decorah.

Pospisil has written several articles for X and O labs which is an online coaching resource. Jared past duties included video exchange and assisting with the strength & conditioning staff at UHS. His expertise is acceleration and deceleration.

Coach Pop coached Jared Wauters who played defensive back at Wartburg College and Brad Siebel who played DB at Coe College.

Previously, Jared served as defensive coordinator at Waterloo West High, special teams coordinator and offensive line coach at Charles City, a sophomore coach at Montgomery-Lonsdale High (MN), and volunteered for West Central and Vermillion High Schools and the Dakota Lawdawgs (all in SD).

Jared earned a BA in English, BS in education, and masters in special education, from the University of South Dakota, where he also played defensive back for the Coyotes.

Jared currently lives in La Porte City, with his wife, Sarah, and his two daughters, Addison and Elliette, and his son Marek.
