Minor League Boys Information
Boys playing in the Minor League division are playing under the PONY, Mustang Rules. Boys playing in this age group are 7, 8 and 9 years old. Players in this age group must turn 7 before May 1, 2022 and No player can turn 10 before May 1, 2022.

Regulation games are 6 innings long.

The baseball used is the Rawlings RPLB and must have the PONY Emblem.

RULES:

Bases are set at 60 feet.

The pitchers plate is 6"x24" and set 43 feet from the back point of home plate.

The batters boxes must measure 4 feet wide by 6 feet long.


Teams may score only 5 runs per inning or a maximum of 8 runs on the continuation of a play on a hit ball. This rule applies to all innings.

If either teams leads by at least 12 runs after 4 innings or 10 runs after 5, the game is over.

There is no infield fly.

Base runners must maintain contact with the bag until the ball crosses the plate or hits the ground.

Batters may not advance to first base on a missed third strike catch by the catcher.

No player shall be permitted to steal home or harass the catcher from third base as long as the catcher has possession of the ball within the catchers box or batters box area. Any steal of home must be done at the time of the pitch once the ball crosses the plate or hits the ground, on a past ball, or on an errant throw. Any runner who steals home in any other fashion shall be sent back to third base.

No player shall intentionally collide with any other player while running the bases or fielding the ball. If a close play exists at any base, the runner coming into that base must attempt to avoid contact or be called out. RUNNERS DO NOT HAVE TO SLIDE.

*Pitchers may pitch according to the pitch count rules set forth by the PONY League. The Calendar week runs Monday thru Sunday.

*Pitching cards(Provided by the League) must be used by each team recording each pitchers innings as well a pitch count. The pitching card must be presented at each game. At the time of any pitching change, the card must be filled out and presented to the opposing manager who will check the card and sign it, verifying the pitcher and the innings. ALL PITCHING CARDS MUST BE DONE IN INK!

Teams playing in this division may start a game with 8 players and must finish with 8 players. No out is required to be taken for the 9th position.
