We have 3 teams:

Biddies: K-2nd grade
St Joseph's is proud to have a long tradition of cheerleading excellence. While the trophies in the trophy case date back to the early 80's, there are stories of St Joe's being a dominating team as far back as the 1960's!
In the 80's, we were known for our exact precision & innovative stunting. We were a top team through 1987, competing & winning locally as well as at the World Cheering Competition in Chicago, but when a beloved coach left, the team left with her, and in 1988, there was no cheerleading team at St Joseph's. Soon after, some involved mothers revived the program, and the girls began cheering for basketball games again. But it wasn't until 1994, when some former SJS cheerleaders-Kerri, Karen & Amy Panza-took over, that the Eagle girls took to the mats in competition again.
In 1994, nine strong willed girls, all in 5th & 6th grade, put St Joe's back on the competitive mat! They only competed in one competition that year, but they were hooked! It was only a matter of time until we heard the words "...and the winner is, St Joe's!" During the 1996-97 season we opened registration to the whole parish, rather than just the school kids, and we had enough girls to form 2 teams, a Varsity & a JV. The following year, we added a Biddy team, and things have been rolling ever since. Year after year all of our teams continue to fill the trophy cases with win after win, and we now have over 80 girls in the program! We are known for our dedication to good sportsmenship & our willingness to up the degree of difficulty every year.
In the 2004-05 season, the Varsity team completed a perfect season. Our JV team followed that up with a perfect 2005-2006 season. The Varsity team made it three years in a row when they became undefeated National Champions during the 2006-2007 season. In the 2008 season we were 2 time Eastern State Champions & 2 time Spirit Fest Champions! We have solidified our position as one of the top teams in New Jersey by being consistent year after year. As we look forward to the 2009 season, we are fully confident that our winning ways will continue, and we will remain THE TEAM TO BEAT!!
