Information:
We encourage everyone to please arrive 15 minutes early so we can get started on time. Please have your son registered and fee paid before the first night of tryouts.
Please note that tryouts for the 5th grade team will be limited to 5th graders only and that tryouts for the 6th grade team will be limited to 6th graders only. We will not be allowing players to "play up" on the travel teams this year unless circumstances would dictate otherwise (i.e., not enough boys try out).
In order to qualify for the travel team, your son will need to be in attendance at least one of the two try-out nights. We strongly encourage your son to be at both try-outs (both nights) to ensure he gets the best evaluation to make the team. There will be members of the CVYBA Board and CV Basketball community on hand to help with the drills and the evaluations to make the final choices on the boys selected for both teams. The selections will be made by an evaluation committee and not solely by the head coach.
The tryouts will also be closed door tryout to allow the boys to focus on the tryout and maximize the space of the entire gym. Parents may stay in the lobby area during the tryout but will not be permitted in the gym. Please respect this request as it will allow the coaches and evaluators to focus their time on try-outs.
