GM Greg Kalina has been placed on the disabled list with a fractured right pinky toe, retroactive to Friday, January 11th. Avoiding scattered plastic baby toys, the GM stubbed his foot on the side of the bathroom door, looked down, and saw a pinky toe protruding at a 45 degree angle from his right foot.

After unsuccessful attempts to treat himself at the scene, he was rushed to the emergency room, where the 4-hour drama resulted in a diagnosis of a fractured toe, an adjustment of the protruding toe, and a buddy tape to the impacted area. Swelling, discoloration, and pain were minimal. Limp almost unnoticeable.

Recovery time is expected to be 4-6 weeks, therefore the GM is unfortunately out for the February 16th Valentine's Day Massacre at Baseball Heaven. Sorry Joe.

I just want all of you to know that I will be rehabbing this unfortunate injury and plan to be a full playing shape by the beginning of the season. I am committed to excellence.

This is terrible. The GM really had an awful week. First he catches a cold. Then the McDonald's guy rubs him the wrong way on the LIRR. Then he gets a scary phone call from Aunt Geraldine at HR. Now the pinky toe is destroyed??? It seems once again the house has won since no one is cleaning up the toys!

Good God!! Who the hell is going to pick me up for the V-day tourney with Kalina out???

Although you cannot see it, I'm shedding tears for you just as Terrell Owens did for Tony Romo. My thoughts and prayers are with you during this difficult time with your toe. Don't rush back to soon, turf toe has been known to linger for months.
