Waterdown wolves and Campbellville tie in our game 1 of first round playoffs. We played 8 innings and ran out of time and tied. Then our coaches tell us that rules were changed in this league, and that game some how just didnt happen? And now you want us to restart it? Why wouldn't we just pick up where we left off? Just looking for an explanation here cause I'm trying to figure it out. Now our schedule, should we move on, will be sunday/tuesday/thursday/Sunday forever. After just throwing 8 innings. How does any roster the size of that in this league, have the arms for that?

Pick the game up where it left off

We ran into some issues the past couple of years with the ties and we would use a full 3 hour permit for possibly 1 inning which didn't make sense cost wise. Now i remember a couple years ago we were tied after 8 innings so we then continued the game at the next scheduled permit date figured we would play another inning or two then get in game 2 after that game ended, and then we played another 7 innings to finally get a winner in 15 innings and then still had to get another permit for game 2. So from a scheduling and cost wise it just makes sense to play it all over again. Sucks yes as you said pitching 8 innings pretty much for nothing but it is what it is

Yeah but I think we can agree that, that certain game to take 7 innings to solve the tie, has got to be an outlier. How many games would get played and solved in 1-3 innings before you get a 7 inning game like that?

What I'm saying is that most of the time you would play 1-3 innings and then play game 2 after that. Which eliminates the need for another 3 hour permit on a separate day all together...which seems more cost efficient to me but I dont pay the bills

Obviously the same team would need to win both games in order to eliminate that third game.

I understand the leagues rule if it was a deciding game. 1-1 in a three game series totally makes sense to avoid a 1 inning permit but just not in a game 1.

Just throwing it out there for discussions. Thanks for getting back to me.
