I just got the word, that Hackensack & Bloomfield will be merging into one.

Cresskill will be back and now I have to hear from Hoboken.

Here are the teams we have so far:

1. Cliffside Park
2. Cresskill
3. Hackensack
4. Jersey City
5. North Haledon
6. Park Ridge
7. Ramapo Valley
8. Ridgewood
9. Teaneck

Thanks, Henry

FYI... the idea of the merge was proposed to Carl, not proposed by him.

The proposal was accepted by Bloomfield because of several reasons. The three main reasons being: 1) Bloomfield was losing several players. 2) Bloomfield does not have a field. 3) Financial reasons.

Don't question Carl's character, and if you do, state your name.

there are going to be a lot of opinions about the choice made by some of the Bloomfield players to join Hackensack. To clarify and follow up on Butch's statement, you are pointing the finger at the wrong person. Our manager had nothing to do with this!! He asked myself Jay Tiseo and the other players who were asked to play on Hackensack, if we wanted to talk to Hackensack about their proposed offer. I was unsure at first, but our lack of a field, and our financial situation is what drove us to this decision. You can question anything else you want to the players who joined Hackensack, but do not Ass U me that it was Carl.

cantbeatMjoinM is a meathead. I just wan't everyone on the new Hackensack team to know how much I'm looking forward to the upcoming season. Most of us have played together in the past (butchie, bravo, RC, Tis)and we also went to battle against each other (Marc and Carl), but this year we want that ring, and I think we have all our pieces in place...
If any has an issue with this merger let me know, I would love to discuss it.

speaking on my behalf, it's about winning and playing with your college buddies.

Bloomfield had a few players that fitted a void that we had...
We all played together in college and want to bring that winning spark back....

As far as the leaque going down the tubes because of this, I strongly disagree.

There still some quality teams in this league;
Cresskill (returning champs)
Ramapo Valley (2nd Place)
North Haledon (Regional Hosts)

If this doesn't answer everyone's questions, I don't know what will?..

How do you reply to this post without an undertone of cockiness.
well, ok, i'll try. We at Hackensack we probably gonna fold. We were a team, going back 9 years to the beginning, that was always the team to beat. We were in the Met League finals every year of our existance and went to the nationals 2 out of our first 3 years in the AABC. The year we didn't go we were 25-2 in the regular season. Last season didn't have the same feel for alot of us. Yeah we were good but weren't clearly the best. I can't speak for all of my teammates but I'm not in this to build a team, or to have fun. I love baseball but I could easily spend my summers off with my boys at the beach. I play for 2 reasons --to win a national title and so my sons can grow up around the game and have memories of me playing.
So with all that in mind we at Hackensack with people hanging 'em up and having to peacemeal a team together for another season, it wasn't worth it. I was all ready to take some of my teammates and play with someone else. I would have been difficult because for the last 10 years our core has been together. But a couple of our core guys got together with a couple of there core guys and we came up with the idea. Mr Houser was the last to know. He gave the final go ahead, and a deal was struck. It just so happens that their core guys butch,rc,bravette are willy p guys or are friends with us off the field so it ,made for an easy agreement.
Do I think it makes us the favorite, yup. but we were the favorite in 2002 and lost so preseason favorite means nothing until the last out is recorded sometime in July.

I have to admit that I was a little upset to see the merger of these 2 quality franchises for one simple reason. When any team came to North Haledon to play, it was followed by a trip to Jimmy Geez for wings. Bloomfield and Hackensack were certainly no exception. However now that the merger has occured, that will mean less trips to Jimmy Geez over the course of a season. I will have to find a way to fill that void. What is a wing-lover to do?

Don't worry Joe, if a few more teams merge we can just play a five round long, round robin tournament in North Haledon, instead of having a season.

This message goes out to ANYONE that has a problem with the merger between Bloomfield & Hackensack.

First I would like to remind EVERYONE that this league is NOT controlled by ANYONE.

This league is the PROPERTY OF THE TEAMS THAT PARTICIPATE IN IT.

Whoever thinks that they run or control the off season moves is out of their mind.

This is not Germany in the 1940's.

GET OFF OF YOUR F-ING HIGH HORSE!

Both teams were going to fold.

It is better to have half a loaf of bread than no loaf at all.

The people that are complaining are the same cry babies that complain EVERY TIME something does not go their way.

STOP YOUR BITCHING & GROW UP.

I would like to think that we are men.

My 5 year old son has more self confidence that you complainers.

If anyone has a problem with this, PLEASE respond with your thoughts, and I will give further explanation.

Lastly, I will never respond to anyone that is not man enough to sign his/her name.
If cannot sign your name, you are not worthy of a response.

I did not plan on writing anything on the website this year as I think this is a forum for people to talk smack and not sign their names, which I think is pitiful.

Those who do not sign their names are below me and below anyone that does sign their name.

Danny, if you can, you should either block them out OR list who they are IF you have access to that as the webmaster.

If you want a league where there is one team that dominates (Cresskill), just say the word and I will gladly step down and let you all have your worthless, stress-filled, non-competitive (with the exception of Cresskill) league back.

Butch, you're a class act and an excellent ball player, never feel the need to defend yourself against an idiot like this one clown(can't beat them join them). You're play speaks for itself year in and year out, Good Luck in Hackensack and I look forward to competing against you this summer.
To all Merger Haters:
I personally would be pissed if I didn't get the chance to face either one of these teams next year. The core players from both these team will help keep the reputation of this league in tact.
Azz:
There will never be a shortage of wing outings at Jimmy Geez, no worries!
Farber:
I've played against your for a while, and had a 2 year stint with you in RP, I'm glad your back, maybe your should co,! I look forward to getting another shot at your guys on the mound, and I'm sure you guys are looking for revenge after last year in the playoffs, this is the shit that keeps us going man. See you this summer!
Lutz:
Always feeling the need to throw out all the stats, I love it, anyone who has half a clue, knows all this shit, I'm just glad I will get to face you again, being that you still can't hit a change-up, ha ha. Good Luck and I'll see you on the field, and in the parking lot for some brew afterward.
Cantbeatemjoinem:
Give me your name, jersey# and what team you play for! My guess is you're some computer dork who has nothing to do but rank on our league. Go away please.

See everyone else this summer!

Nothing like a little chatter to spice up a January morning. First and foremost, my condolences to you Scott. I havent been on the site, and wish I knew what you were going through. I apologize for being out of the loop. I do question your obvious slight to my team in your previous post. By singling out Cresskill as the only great team left, you are insulting the accomplishments of Ramapo Valley. I guess we will just have to beat you again to wake you up. I look forward to seeing you in the summer and if there is anything I can do let me know. You are the man either way (but the arrogance makes it sweeter and sweeter when we send you packing).

You are correct. I am big and in some people's eyes I may be a goon. However I can out-eat you when it comes to wings without question. And what is this BS about your pitching prowess. When the hell were on the mound in a key game and/or situation in the past 5 years? Every time our teams played your job was to reserve a table at the local wing joint or to jog to the foul pole and back to the dugout.

I will be there on Feb 2 but not until after 9pm. Rick, I hope to see you there.

PS I do have a few spots left in my $10 per box pool. Any takers?

I love joking around and love the after game events. On a serious I am yet to loose to your North Haledon Reds. Unfortunately I wasn't lucky enough to face you guys this past summer, but I pitched a complete game agianst the reds twice the summer before, once in the regular season right before the playoffs and then again I beat you in the first round, were those game big, NO, but they were wins for my team and myself. I will agree I am yet to have the ball in a big game like the championship, but by all means I have been very successlful in the league ever since I was 17, and I believe my team as a whole is one little break away from actually winning this thing, and I won't hang'em up till that happens.

Back to the fun stuff, see you all at Jimmy Geez, will there be a Neyland siting? Will the Duke be doing a dozen shots of Henny?

Azz,

Not sure where we are going with this, but I'll continue. I will state for the record, that I had no business ever being on The Ridgefield Park Orioles. I was told by Scott that there will always be a spot on his team for me, and while I was recovering from tommy John surgery and being from Leonia it was convenience to play for a closer team. I pitched well for those guys, in fact I never lost a game with them. Come playoff time, there were a ton of new arms and my time was limited. I chose to hand in my uniform and enjoy the rest of the summer, it wasn't worth it to me just to be a part of it, I belong in the starting rotation, period. For some reason I played a summer in Park Ridge, after that team only won 4 or 5 games, I realized I had made a few mistakes, and asked Danny if I could come back if there was a spot in the rotation for me. I never should have left the White Sox/Yankees, period.

Am I awesome, no, but I said I am successful. My goal is to have fun, help the younger guys who are still in college and contribute to my teams success. So enough with the shots below the belt, you're better than that Joe.

I believe this message board is meant for members of our league to communicate with other as well as BUST SOME CHOPS. All of my comments were intended to be jovial and they were not "BELOW THE BELT." Unfortuantely you took them as such. No need to worry because I will no longer direct anything toward you Tony. I will direct my comments toward other members of this board who know how to take a joke.

For instance, Matt Neyland is a co-ed softball playing jerk. He is a no-talent, strip joint frequenter, who feels the need to remind us of his lack of abilities and continue to play in our league.

Ahearn is a Met and Jet-loving fool is enjoys being disappointed each football and baseball season that passes.
