Brew Crew score in every inning of shutout over Cubs
The Brew Crew's Chris Staub got the scoring started with an RBI double in the top of the 1st. In the 2nd, RBI singles by Paulie Pittinger and Skylar Hamill made it 3-0. Another RBI double by Staub extended the lead to 4-0 in the 3rd. Mark Lomenzo led off the 5th with an inside-the-park home run. Another single run in the 5th was plated by a Skylar Hamill RBI single to make it 6-0. The Brew Crew finally had their big inning in the 6th, started by a Staub 2-run homer, then followed by a James Guiseppe 2-run double, and ended with a Ricky Grace RBI single. Meanwhile, on the mound, Lomenzo pitched 4 shutout innings, allowing only 2 hits, while Barak Gohn picked up the save with 3 shutout innings, also allowing only 2 hits.
Staub, Marc Jankowski, and Skylar Hamill led the team with 3 hits each. Jordan Jacobs, Lomenzo and Guiseppe added a pair of hits. For the Cubs, Danny Rosado reached base in all his plate appearances with a single and walk.
