Greece Falls In Extras

After a sloppy start by both teams in the first inning, a great game was played but the Generals fell a little short in a 4-3 defeat in extra innings.

Irondequoit took advantage of an error and a wild pitch to get on the board first.

Greece came right back with Mike Mule reaching on an error and was moved around by a stolen base and back to back singles by Victor Torres and James Huber.

The visitors put a couple of hard hit balls together to take a 3-1 lead. Jayson Russell hit a blast to the right center field gap to lead off the 4th and was scored on a Jack Berbert ground out to cut the lead.

Jamison Lynd led off the 7th with a pinch hit walk and Connor Hong pinch ran for him. Thomas Finnerty came up with 2 down and hit a double to right center to tie the game up at 3.

Irondequoit put together a single, a hit by pitch and a 2 out single from Jayden Fayad to take the lead.

Russell led off the 8th hit another hard single but was left at 2nd base as the game ended

Neale McMullen went 6 1/3 innings allowing only 2 earned runs in his first start of the season.

Torres led the way going 3 for 4 and Russell was 2 for 3 to pace GP (3-1).
