Terriers lose pitchers duel to Allegheny, 1-0.

The Terriers watched the game slip away early and couldn't recover in a 1-0 loss to Allegheny Athletics on Sunday. Allegheny Athletics took the lead on a home run in the second inning.

The pitching was strong on both sides. Allegheny Athletics pitchers struck out four, while Terriers sat down six.

One bright spot for Terriers was a single by Jared Houser in the first inning.

James Trainor earned the win for Allegheny Athletics. He pitched seven innings, allowing zero runs, four hits, striking out four, and walking one. Justin Hovorka took the loss for Terriers. He tossed six innings, surrendering one run, six hits, and striking out six.

Chad Matthus, Tom Eslich, Evan Maley, and Houser each managed one hit to lead Terriers. Terriers didn't commit a single error in the field. Eslich had the most chances in the field with eight.

Allegheny Athletics was sure-handed in the field and didn't commit a single error. Holland had the most chances in the field with seven.
