MIRA MESA SUFFERS TOUGH LOSS IN 8 INNINGS
The Marauders dropped an extra inning contest to Poway on Saturday, falling 4-1. Poway took a 1-0 lead in the 2nd, and Mira Mesa was struggling offensively until scoring in the bottom of the 6th to tie the game. Tani Leasau drew a walk, was sacrificed to 2nd by Mercedes Humphrey and went to 3rd on an Alicia Garcia single. Amber Cordero followed with a single up the middle to drive in Leasau. The Marauders were unable to deliver any other big hits though as they left the bases loaded in the 5th, 6th and 8th innings. Garcia pitched well, holding the Titans to just one run until they erupted for three in the 8th.
